Sentara CarePlex Hospital is a technologically advanced, acute care hospital, and Certified Primary Stroke Center located in Hampton, Va.

The 224-bed hospital offers an eICU® to monitor patients even more closely with state-of-the-art equipment and computer software. Sentara CarePlex Hospital provides care through advanced surgical programs, emergency cardiac intervention and fellowship-trained physicians. It is also home to the Orthopaedic Hospital at Sentara CarePlex Hospital, the area's first dedicated orthopedic hospital, taking specialized orthopedic care to a new level.

🍁 Our Employee and Family Fall Festival was a massive success!

From the pumpkin patch and bounce houses to cotton candy and popcorn, it was the perfect day with our Sentara CarePlex family.

A historic highlight of the day was our very first generational jam session! 🎸🎤 A huge shout-out to David Smith (Director of Facilities) and Thomas Martin (Sentara Corporate) for taking the stage, rocking their guitars, and bringing different generations of talent together.

We had so much fun that we hope to do many more of these in the future! We look forward to finding out who else in our hospital family has some hidden musical talents. 🎶👀

We've been honored to carry the American Heart Association - Virginia's Hampton Roads Heart Walk torch these last two weeks!

Our Sentara CarePlex Hospital team was the first to host the torch and commit to raising funds and recruiting for the upcoming Heart Walk. We rallied around heart health and cardiovascular wellness, and soon we'll pass the torch to our next partner in this 10-week relay!

Participating in the ceremonial torch journey represents our commitment to advancing life-saving research, increasing CPR education, and improving heart health for everyone in our community.

Mark your calendars for the Peninsula Heart Walk on Saturday, October 31 at Fort Monroe Outlook Beach, and the Southside Heart Walk on November 14 at Mount Trashmore Park in Virginia Beach.

As a young girl, Meghan Nowell watched her mother Cassie care for patients during bring-your-kids-to-work days and knew she'd found her future. Today, both women work the night shift at Sentara CarePlex Hospital, carrying forward the same passion for nursing and teamwork.

Across Sentara, mothers and daughters are building careers in the same hospitals, carrying forward a legacy of compassion, teamwork, and service.

Their stories remind us that when people find purpose in what they do, inspiration has a way of being passed down.

This summer, middle school students spent a week at our hospital as part of the Sentara Health Career Camp and discovered healthcare careers they never knew existed.

Here's a look at campers learning about hospital security and how to use a fire extinguisher, watching an ultrasound demonstration, and touring an ambulance. Thanks to Hampton Fire & Rescue for stopping by to give our campers a firsthand look at EMS careers!
