Medical Monday: CPAP Tips for Better Sleep

Starting CPAP therapy can feel like a big adjustment, but a few simple steps can make all the difference. Taking a few minutes each night to properly fit your mask helps create a better seal, reduces air leaks, and makes your therapy more comfortable and effective.

Use our step-by-step guide to help make your bedtime routine a little easier. Remember:
• Wash your face before putting on your mask.
• Check that your mask, tubing, and machine are clean and connected properly.
• Adjust your headgear so it's snug, but not overly tight.
• Turn on your machine and breathe normally.

If your mask is leaking, causing discomfort, or just doesn't seem to fit right, don't give up on your therapy. There are many different mask styles and sizes available, and the right fit can make all the difference.

Testimonial Tuesday:
When my daughter was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes at just 4 years old, our world changed overnight. Looking back, the first signs were easy to miss. She became very pale, started losing weight, and seemed thirsty all the time. Once we received the diagnosis, we felt completely overwhelmed. There was so much information to learn, so many supplies to manage, and so many questions about what life would look like moving forward.

Today, my daughter is 8 years old, and while Type 1 Diabetes is still a part of our daily lives, it has become our new normal. We've learned how to manage it, adapt, and help her continue living a happy, active childhood.

What makes my experience especially meaningful is that I work at LTMS, where we help patients and families navigate these same challenges every day. Even before my family's diagnosis, I understood the importance of diabetic supplies. After experiencing it firsthand, I gained a whole new appreciation for the difference they make.
