How many women came before us whose names we’ll never know?

Women who created, healed, birthed, loved, made art, held families together and were erased from the story.

So much has been taken from women throughout history.

But there is one place no one can ever fully own: the way it feels to live inside our own bodies.

They can shame our pleasure.

Tell us to be smaller, quieter, easier.

Teach us not to trust our desires.

But they cannot take away our ability to feel fu***ng alive.

I think there is something deeply primally ancestral about reclaiming that.

You can spend your whole life trying to change a machine that was built to operate exactly as it does and get no where.

So he stopped asking, How do we make school better?

And started asking, What else is possible?

I can’t stop thinking about this in relation to patriarchy.

What if smashing the patriarchy still keeps patriarchy at the center of the conversation?

What if we stopped trying to beat it at its own game?

I don’t think the answer is to go back to a matriarchal clan society.
