A new Early Childhood Chats special edition is out, and this is one to share with your whole leadership team. I sat down with Yvette Sanchez Fuentes, SVP Government Relations and Research at Start Early and former Director of the Office of Head Start, to work through the proposed changes to the Head Start program.

We keep it calm and non-partisan and focus on what the proposal actually does, from a roughly ninety percent reduction in performance standards to an English-only mandate and the end of self-attestation for families experiencing homelessness. And we talk about the one thing every program can do right now.

These are proposed changes. Nothing has changed today. But the comment period closes October 6, and this is the field's chance to be heard. You do not have to be a lawyer to comment. Pull your data, tell your story, and submit.
