This is one of the most important markers I look at for real recovery in my own physiology and the people who come to me for help.

During deep sleep:
• your body repairs muscle and tissue
• growth hormone is released
• your immune system resets
• your brain clears waste through the glymphatic system
Then REM sleep takes over:
• consolidates memory
• processes emotion
• integrates what you learned

Leptin: The Silent Hormone That’s Controlling Your Fat
Leptin isn’t just a “satiety hormone.” It’s a master regulator of your metabolism, hunger, and fat storage.
🔬 What Is it?
Leptin is a hormone produced primarily by your fat cells. The more fat you have, the more leptin you produce. It travels through your bloodstream to the brain-specifically the hypothalamus-to say: 🧠 “Hey, we’re good on energy. You can stop eating now.”
When leptin is working correctly, your body maintains energy balance, your metabolism stays efficient, and you eat when you’re truly hungry.

A few years ago, Kauai received 50 inches of rain in 24 hours.

The mountain came down.

The road washed out.

Overnight, the North Shore was cut off from the rest of the island.

My home was there.

My business was there.

Hanalei Day Spa was there.

Visitors couldn't come in. Employees moved away. I still had bills to pay and no idea how long the road would be closed.

Everything I had built over two decades came to a screeching halt.

After tending to my community, my clients, and myself, I remembered something my Vedic astrologer had been telling me for years:

"Create an online course."

For years, I resisted.

I was busy running a spa.

But now the road was broken, and suddenly I had time.

Lots of time.

So I rolled up my sleeves and started organizing three decades of Ayurvedic cleansing knowledge.
