What broke you a little and… built you more?

Have you ever changed a habit because of what your body was telling you?

This sport gave me a reason to run. I’ll always be grateful for that.

But never forget the truth underneath it: a race is nothing without the people who show up for it. The elite chasing the podium and the person terrified at their first start line — you are the sport. Not the other way around.

We’re building something for exactly that person. No date yet — just planting a flag, and finding the people who feel it too. 👇

Most of the times, we train the row like a cardio test by doing intervals, threshold work, more meters. All of that matters.

But a weak leg drive means more strokes to cover the same distance, and every extra stroke is energy you don’t get back. Clean up the drive and you get more force per pull and more time to breathe between them.

A race isn’t only won by how much you can spend. It’s also won by how much you can save.

Coaches: what’s something a client of yours got better at that nobody would notice from the outside? 👇

Higher stroke rate or lower stroke rate?

Neither is automatically better.

A stronger athlete may be able to produce more force with each stroke and hold the same split at a lower stroke rate.

Another athlete may rely on a slightly higher stroke rate because producing that much force every stroke is more expensive.

Same split.

Different strategy.

The goal is not to copy someone else’s stroke rate.

The goal is to find the one that lets you produce the speed you need without paying more than you have to.

What stroke rate do you naturally gravitate toward when you’re trying to hold race pace?

To every mother growing a life while still showing up every day, respect. ❤️

One of my clients is 76. He’s lifted his whole life and for few years he couldn’t raise his arm past his hip without using the other hand to pull it down. He was told that’s just how it is now.

We didn’t fix the joint. We retaught the muscles around it to work again. His scan didn’t change what he can do changed.

If you’ve ever been told “that’s just how it is now” and refused to believe it, tell me below. What did you decide not to accept? 👇
