At Ridgedale Surgery Center, we're proud to serve patients throughout Hanover and the surrounding communities with high-quality outpatient care that helps people get back to the activities they enjoy most.

Join Us in Recognizing Joann Barker

Joann Barker hails from Verona, New Jersey, where she has lived for 52 years. She attended nursing school at Holy Name Hospital in Teaneck, New Jersey, graduating in 1966 as part of a class of 66 students. She later went on to earn both her BSN and MSN degrees.
Throughout her distinguished career, Joanne received a Doctorate in Catholic Studies and was honored as Nurse of the Year in 1972. In 1969, she was one of the first seven nurses to help open the dialysis center at Holy Name Hospital. She also served for several years as a manager in the Trauma ICU.
Joanne has been employed at Ridgedale Surgery Center for 16 years, where her knowledge, leadership, and dedication continue to make a lasting impact. We are honored to have such a highly accomplished and decorated nurse as part of our surgery center family.

Colorectal cancer is the most common cause of cancer death among adults under age 50—but it doesn’t have to be.
A colonoscopy is the only screening tool that can actually prevent colorectal cancer, not just detect it. During a colonoscopy, pre cancerous polyps can be found and removed before they become dangerous.
