This Memorial Day, we honor and remember all those who lost their lives fighting for our freedom and protecting our country.
We also hold deep gratitude for the families, children, and loved ones who carry those sacrifices every single day, as well as the brave men and women still serving our country today. 🇺🇸
Please know how thankful we are for your courage, your service, and your sacrifice. It is never taken for granted.
With gratitude,
Mayflower Early ABA Services

There is such a delicate balance between honoring assent while also supporting each client’s individualized goals and growth. At Mayflower, we are deeply inspired by Dr. Greg Hanley and the evolution of “today’s ABA”. And our approach is rooted in compassion, safety, connection, and meaningful learning. It's important to always keep up with the science of the field while honoring the clients we serve.

Last night in teen group, the girls paired up and interviewed each other using conversation starters about their interests, strengths, future goals, and things that can feel socially challenging. While listening, they created art inspired by each other’s stories. 🎨💛

One teen described becoming more independent and “coming into her own,” which inspired this beautiful drawing of an apple falling from a tree and growing into one of its own. Such a powerful symbol of growth, identity, and becoming your own person while still staying connected to your roots. Such a beautiful way to express what she was hearing from her friend. 🌱🍎

This is the kind of meaningful connection and self-expression we love seeing in our groups!

Our family friend, Phyllis Shea, has been working hard training for the Best Buddies Challenge in honor of her 17 year old son Adam, who has Autism and has attended the Higashi School in Randolph for the past 10 years. She will be completing a 20-mile bike ride to raise support and awareness for individuals with autism.

Help Phyllis and Team Adam meet their fundraising goal — any donation is greatly appreciated! 💙

Tonight, Mayflower Early ABA Services was proud to participate in the Hanover SEPAC Inclusive Community Resource Fair.

We were especially excited to showcase our teen girls entrepreneurial art group, Tide to Table. The girls worked incredibly hard creating every part of their business from the ground up, including their business name, logo, product ideas, pricing, display setup, raffle, gift wrapping, customer interactions, and sales.

Throughout the event, the girls practiced real-life social and life skills in a meaningful and natural environment. They worked on:
• conversational skills with customers
• confidence and public speaking
• teamwork and collaboration
• flexible thinking and problem solving
• money skills, counting profits, and dividing earnings equally
• organization, planning, and responsibility

Most importantly, they experienced the pride that comes from creating something meaningful and sharing it with the community.

This is what social skills can look like in real life — connection, creativity, teamwork, confidence, and joyful learning.

We are so proud of the girls and so thankful to Hanover SEPAC for hosting such a fun and inclusive event for families and local organizations. đź’™

We love this strategy! When a child is upset—sad, mad, frustrated—it’s not the moment to correct. It’s the moment to connect.

When we don’t acknowledge how a child feels, they often “turn up the volume” just to be understood.
Validation doesn’t mean agreeing. It means showing them:
“I see you.”
“I hear you.”
“I get it.”
A simple label—“You’re feeling really frustrated right now”—can go a long way.
When we put words to their emotions, their body begins to calm.
And once they’re calm, they can think, problem solve, and move forward.
Connection first. Then teach.
That’s where real learning happens!
