This weekend PATSA participated in a unique event in Pittsburgh--called Tekko! This annual four-day Japanese pop culture and anime convention held is organized by the non-profit Pittsburgh Japanese Culture Society (PJKdS). It features cosplay, J-pop/J-rock music, artists and vendors, gaming, panels, and community events like badge ribbon collecting. Held at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center. Here are some pics from the event--attendance was over 13,000 this year!

Have you heard of or attended Tekko before? Are you planning to attend Tekko 2026? Tekko is Pennsylvania's largest anime convention with Japanese Pop Culture, Gaming, Music, and Fashion.

Did you also know that Tekko is a non-profit with Visiting Partners, which are other conventions, non-profits, and other community partners that share their mission or events with attendees at Tekko?

Well, they do.... and for the first time ever, PATSA will be one of the non-profits that will be in the vendor hall at Tekko! Tekko has over 12,000 attendees throughout the weekend and PATSA is planning on meeting a lot of them, educating them on Tourette, and giving out ribbons for attendees to put on their badfes, when they stop by PATSA's table in the Vendor Hall (and attendees have the opportunity for a 2nd special ribbon if they donate to PATSA)!

So, if you have nothing to do later this week/weekend, head on over to the David L Lawrence Convention Center, to Tekko, and get your ribbons!

Legislative Committee:

The 2026-2027 Budget was agreed to and passed early this afternoon and is currently being walked upstairs for Gov Shapiro.

PATSA will receive $159,000.....while not the level playing field or any increase we would like to see anything above $0 is a win.

Thank you to everyone that told their stories and experiences to their legislators this past year whether in District or Harrisburg.

Like I said at camp.....Tourettes is one of the loudest items being talked about in the halls of the capitol this year over any other year. More legislators are understanding and climbing onboard the train because of our wonderful families and kids.

We will continue pushing forward creating bridges and keep talking the incredible work we do for individuals/families in every nook & cranny of the Commonwealth.
