Your brain at 11:37 PM:
“This minor interaction will ruin your life forever.”

Meanwhile, future you can barely remember it happened.

One simple question can create a surprising amount of emotional breathing room:
Will this matter in a day? A week? A year?

To the teachers holding space for overwhelmed kids, noticing the quiet ones, redirecting the chaos, staying late, answering one more email, and somehow still showing up with patience and heart…

Thank you.

You are often teaching far more than math, reading, or science.

You’re teaching emotional regulation, resilience, confidence, kindness, and safety, whether it’s in the lesson plan or not.

The impact of a good teacher lasts long after the school year ends. 💛

Happy Teacher Appreciation Week from all of us at Inspired. 🍎 Drop the name of a teacher who has made a positive impact on you!

Life: finally calms down

Your brain: “Excellent. Now let’s invent problems.”

There’s actually a reason this happens.

It’s a strange moment.Nothing is wrong. In fact…things are kind of good.Work is steady. Relationships feel okay. No major fires to put out.And yet...You feel a little off.Restless. Uneasy. Almost like you’re waiting for something to go wrong. This Is More Common Than You ThinkMost people assume...

Your college kid is coming home for the summer…and suddenly:
you’re the villain,
they’re overwhelmed,
and every conversation has… “potential” (but not the feel good kind).

You’re not imagining it.

They’ve had months of total independence…
making their own choices, avoiding what they don’t want to deal with and figuring things out (kind of).

Now they’re back…
same house, different expectations, and way less patience on both sides.

And here’s the part no one really talks about:
college doesn’t teach emotional regulation.

So when stress hits, it looks like:
shutting down,
snapping,
avoiding,
or going from 0 to 100 over something small.

Summer can turn into a long standoff…
or it can be a reset.

A chance for them to actually learn how to:
handle emotions without spiraling,
have conversations without it blowing up, and
tolerate stress instead of escaping it.

Because independence without those skills?
It’s just chaos with a dorm room.

And honestly… it’s exhausting for everyone involved.

If you’re curious what that kind of support can actually look like reach out and let’s talk about it. www.inspiredne.com

If saying no makes you feel guilty, this one’s for you.

There’s a kind of exhaustion that doesn’t come from doing too much.It comes from editing yourself all day.Saying yes when you mean maybe. Saying maybe when you mean no. Swallowing irritation. Softening opinions. Anticipating needs before they’re spoken. Keeping the peace. Reading the room. Man...

Meet Miranda 🤍

Some clinicians just get it…and Miranda is one of them.

She brings a grounded, thoughtful presence to her work, paired with serious clinical skill. If you’re navigating big emotions, complicated relationships, or patterns that just won’t budge, this is her lane.

Miranda focuses on trauma and emotional regulation, using a structured, compassionate approach rooted in DBT. She blends in CBT, mindfulness, and motivational strategies to help clients actually use what they’re learning…not just talk about it.

She’s also trained in EMDR, which means she can help clients process trauma in a way that feels safe, contained, and effective. No emotional free-for-all. We like stability around here.

Since 2017, Miranda has been deeply involved in DBT consultation teams and has led teen, multi-family, and adult skills groups. She’s worked across higher levels of care and spent years in community mental health, including as a Clinical Supervisor. Translation: she’s seen a lot, and she knows what she’s doing.

Outside the office, you’ll find her hiking, reading, watching movies, gardening, or hanging with her two cats…who we can only assume run the household.

We’re really lucky to have her. And honestly, so are our clients.

I had a conversation recently that I can’t stop thinking about.

Someone said,
“I think I’m just bad at therapy.”

And honestly?
I hear some version of that more than you’d think.

People who have been in therapy for years…
who are insightful, self-aware, doing everything “right”…
and still feel stuck.

So here’s the question:

What if it’s not you?

Let’s just say the quiet part out loud.A lot of therapy… doesn’t actually work. Not because therapy is useless. Not because people don’t want to get better. But because a lot of what’s being offered isn’t designed to create real change. And if you’ve ever walked out of a session thinking...
