Why is the relationship between a PT and their patient so important? Here’s what our clinicians say. 👇

It starts with a simple idea: you are the expert on your own life.
Your PT brings the clinical expertise. You bring your experience, your goals, your challenges, and your priorities. And together, you figure out what comes next.

That’s why a physical therapy evaluation is about more than checking a box. It’s where your PT learns what you’re dealing with, what matters most to you, and what you want to get back to.

It’s also a big part of why PT involves more than exercise: the plan is built with you, not handed to you.

Curious what it’s really like to be a physical therapist? Hear it straight from the people who do it every day. 💛

“I like personally making a difference in people’s lives. The ability to get someone go from ‘I can barely walk to the car’ to ‘I’m on the ground playing with my grandkids’… And having that huge & positive change in someones life is super empowering.” - Jacob DuVall, PT

TMD isn’t just jaw pain. It can show up as ear ringing, tooth pain, even headaches.

Temporomandibular Disorders, also known as TMJ dysfunction, can be a tricky beast. Many people don’t recognize the symptoms — from jaw pain, clicking, popping, and locking, into unexpected issues like ear pain, tooth sensitivity, and frequent headaches. These seemingly unrelated symptoms may all be connected to the jaw, and TMJ physical therapy can help uncover and treat the root cause.

Understanding the link between TMD and ear, teeth and headache symptoms is crucial for accurate diagnosis and effective management.

Read the full guide, and if any of this sounds familiar, book a visit. No referral needed.

TMJ Self Release 💥

Jaw clicking, ear pain, or headaches that won’t quit?

Here’s how to perform a TMJ Self Release 👇🏽

Start by washing your hands or putting on a glove.
1. Using your thumb, place it inside your mouth along the back of your jaw, near your back molars.

2. Place your index or middle finger on the outside of your jaw so that your thumb and finger are gently pinching the tissue between them, like you’re gently pinching playdough.

3. Gently press your thumb and finger together and glide both fingers down toward the bottom of your jaw.

4. Next, gently glide your thumb and finger along your cheekbone, moving toward your nose.

5. Throughout the technique, keep your tongue resting on the roof of your mouth and make sure you’re not squeezing too hard.

Do you have more questions or want to get to the bottom of your pain? Reach out and schedule an appointment with our TMD specialist now!

The end of an Era.
I have had the joy of working alongside Sierra Morrell for the past 4 years. She is an amazing PT, but also an incredible human. She is a person of the greatest integrity—she has huge compassion for patients and our team, she stands up for what’s right, she advocates for patients no matter what. She is one of the best teammates a person could ever ask for. Countless times have I seen her checking in with staff, ensuring a good experience for patients, bringing people together. She’s been a hugely important part of our clinic culture and someone who I have learned a ton from. You know you have good people when the patients never want to leave and the staff is having a great time all day!

Sierra, I am honored to have been your coworker and friend. These past years have been a blessing.

Today is Sierra’s last day at our Happy Valley clinic. She is moving to WA (and staying with the company!) to be closer to her family. We know you’ll do great, but we sure will miss you!

Getting back to your sport is about more than just feeling better, it’s about knowing your body is ready. 💪

One of the ways we assess that is by measuring quad strength with a dynamometer. Using objective measurements and evidence-based testing, we can compare strength, monitor progress, and help determine whether it’s safe to return to activity.

Why does that matter? Because returning too soon can increase your risk of re-injury.

Our goal isn’t just to get you back in the game, it’s to help you return stronger, safer, and with confidence.

🏃‍♀️ Whether you’re a competitive athlete, weekend warrior, or just getting back to the activities you love, we’re here to help every step of the way.

Turns out balance is a lot harder when you’re trying to keep a foam roller between your forehead and your foot 👀💀

Our team took on a little challenge, and let’s just say some of us understood the assignment better than others 😂

While we had fun with this one, exercises that challenge balance, coordination, stability, and body awareness are things we work on with patients every day.

Now the real question…

🏆 Who do YOU think won?

Had the opportunity to connect again and support our former aide who we are so proud of! Now a DPT student, but we can’t wait to see her enter the workforce soon!!! 🤩

To help integrate our new staff into our culture, we offer a PT Cohort program. We end these events at TopGolf for some fun social time and invite the next generation of PTs to join us from local DPT programs! 🙌🏽
