☀️ Summer + Eczema = A Tough Combination ☀️
If you or your child has eczema (atopic dermatitis), you may notice it gets worse during the hot summer months. Heat, sweat, and humidity can all trigger flares, leading to itchy, dry, inflamed skin.
Here are a few dermatologist-approved tips to help keep eczema under control this summer:
💙 Keep cool whenever possible. Take breaks in the shade, wear lightweight breathable clothing, and rinse off sweat after being outside.
🧼 Use a gentle, fragrance-free cleanser like Dove Sensitive Skin Beauty Bar.
🧴 Moisturize every day with a thick cream like CeraVe Moisturizing Cream, especially right after bathing to lock in moisture.
🌞 Most importantly—don’t let eczema keep you from enjoying summer! With the right skincare routine, you can still have plenty of fun in the sun.
When eczema flares, don’t just suffer through it. You can try over-the-counter 1% hydrocortisone cream for mild flares. But if it’s not enough—like it wasn’t for my own daughter—it’s time to seek medical care. We have prescription treatments that can calm inflammation quickly and help get your skin back under control.
✨ You don’t have to live with itchy, uncomfortable skin. We have some really effective treatments that can help!
