💌 A note from Wendy—

Hi, I’m Wendy! I’m the Mayfield Office Manager here at New Pathways Counseling.

I’m excited to be part of the New Pathways team and to help create a welcoming, organized, and comfortable experience for everyone who walks through our doors. I enjoy working with people, building meaningful connections, and being part of an environment where others feel supported and cared for.

I’m a Murray State University graduate with a background in agriculture, business, marketing, and management. I’m especially passionate about serving my community and bringing hospitality to everything I do.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, being involved in my church, cooking and trying new recipes, traveling, and enjoying all the little things that make Western Kentucky special.

I’m so thankful for the opportunity to join New Pathways Counseling and look forward to welcoming you to our Mayfield office! 🤍

Wondering if EMDR could be a good fit for you?

You may understand what happened, yet still feel like your mind and body are carrying the weight of it.

EMDR can help you process distressing experiences, lessen the intensity of difficult memories, and work through beliefs or patterns that may still be affecting your life.

You don’t have to figure out on your own whether EMDR is right for you. Our clinicians can help you understand the process and determine whether it may be a good fit for your needs.

Healing takes time, and you don’t have to walk through it alone.

Healing isn’t about becoming someone different. It’s about understanding yourself with greater compassion, making sense of what you’ve been carrying, and finding healthier ways to move forward.

At New Pathways Counseling, we provide individualized care that meets you where you are. Our clinicians create a welcoming space where you can be honest about what you’re experiencing and feel supported along the way.

You don’t have to work through everything on your own. If you’re ready to take the next step, we’d be honored to walk alongside you.

Sometimes, the reminders we hear in therapy are simple, but they can change the way we understand ourselves and what we’re going through.

At New Pathways Counseling, we believe therapy should be a space where you feel safe, heard, and genuinely cared for. Our clinicians take the time to understand your unique story and provide individualized support for the season you’re in.

You don’t have to have everything figured out before reaching out. Therapy can give you space to slow down, process what you’re carrying, and find a healthier way forward.

If you’re considering therapy, we’d be honored to walk alongside you.

Teaching is meaningful work, but caring deeply for your students doesn’t mean you have to carry everything on your own.

Burnout can build gradually when the demands of teaching continue while your own needs keep getting pushed aside.

At New Pathways Counseling, we understand the weight educators carry. Our clinicians provide compassionate, individualized care to help you understand what you’re experiencing, work through stress, and find healthier ways to move forward.

This school year, consider giving yourself the same care and attention you give to your students.

If stress or burnout is beginning to affect your daily life, reaching out for support is a step toward caring for yourself.

Sometimes, trauma is over, but your mind and body may still respond as though you’re in danger.

A distressing experience can feel “stuck,” carrying the emotions, sensations, and beliefs connected to what happened. Triggers can bring those responses back, leaving you feeling overwhelmed, fearful, or caught in difficult patterns.

EMDR can help you process distressing memories and reduce their emotional intensity, creating space for healthier beliefs and responses.

At New Pathways Counseling, our clinicians provide individualized EMDR care, with faith thoughtfully incorporated when it’s important to you.

You can’t change what happened, but you can begin changing how much power it has over your present.

Even Jesus grieved. Even Jesus needed help. Even Jesus prayed honestly instead of pretending He was fine.

Jesus modeled emotional health long before it was a modern conversation: slowing down, praying honestly, welcoming support, and staying rooted in truth.

If He didn't do it all alone, neither should we.

Scripture reminds us again and again that we’re designed for connection, community, and care, especially in difficult seasons.

At New Pathways Counseling, we believe faith and evidence-based counseling can work together to create space for healing, growth, and clarity. We believe that God’s truth brings clarity, hope, and healing.

As Psalm 34:18 reminds us, “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.”

We honor each client’s personal relationship with God while integrating clinically sound approaches to support their healing journey.

Seeking support isn’t a lack of belief; it’s often an act of trust.

If you’re navigating a season that feels heavy, you don’t have to do it alone.

Anxiety doesn’t always look like a panic attack.

Sometimes it looks like avoiding plans, struggling to focus, feeling constantly on edge, overthinking everyday decisions, or dealing with physical symptoms you never realized could be connected to anxiety.

We see people all the time who have lived with these patterns for years without realizing what their mind and body have been trying to communicate.

Understanding what’s happening is an important first step. From learning to recognize anxious thought patterns to creating healthier rhythms, leaning on your support system, and knowing when it’s time to ask for help, there are practical ways to begin moving forward.

If anxiety has started affecting your work, relationships, routines, or ability to simply enjoy everyday life, you don’t have to keep pushing through it alone. 🤍

Call or text (270) 819-6036 to learn more about how we can support you.

Self-care isn't always bubble baths and canceling plans (although those help too!).

It's setting a boundary, getting enough sleep, asking for help, or taking a walk outside when your mind feels loud.

Self-care is what gives you the capacity to actually show up for your people, your work, your life.

You don't have to earn rest. You don't have to justify needing care.

Save this for the days you're running on empty, or share it with someone who's been pouring from an empty cup lately.
