❤️ SIDS Awareness Month 💙

Did you know...
Breastfeeding reduces a baby’s risk for Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) by up to 73% when you exclusively breastfeed.

Babies who are breastfed or are bottle fed pumped breastmilk are at lower risk for SIDS compared with babies who were never fed breastmilk 🤱

Research has shown, the longer you exclusively breastfeed your baby (meaning not supplementing with formula or solid food), the lower his or her risk of SIDS.

Remember, if you bring baby into your bed for feeding, put him or her back in a separate sleep area when finished💗

BREASTFEEDING FACT 🌮🍤🥘
Human breast milk contains the smells and flavors of what you eat.

The baby tasted these same flavors in utero (through the amniotic fluid) and breastfeeding continues to help the baby become used to the cultural food preferences and flavors of their family.

It is not true that flavorful or spicy foods are not okay to eat while breastfeeding, as well as all vegetables.

It is important to continue to eat a wide variety of foods as this is a critical time in your baby’s taste bud development.
