🌺 Community, connection, and a little tropical fun! 🌴

Elizabeth Macias, Community Liaison, joined Valley View Senior Living for their Destination Culture Tropical Family Night Luau on Thursday August 20, where we were happy to provide raffle prizes for the independent living community.

Social activities like family nights give older adults opportunities to stay connected, build friendships, spend time with family, and remain actively involved in their community. Those connections are an important part of supporting overall well-being and quality of life.

A strong care team starts with strong communication. 💚

Our Harlingen team started the morning by coming together to discuss how we can better support our clients, stay connected to their needs, and continue serving our community with compassion and purpose.

This monthly event is a great way to connect with others in the community while supporting locally owned Harlingen businesses. Thank you to Harlingen Economic Development Corporation for continuing to bring the community together and to Los Cuates Restaurant 1 for hosting this month’s gathering!

When families hear unfamiliar medical words, it can add even more stress to an already difficult time. That is why clear, compassionate communication matters so much. Hospice is here not only to provide care, but also to help families understand what is happening and what support is available.

Today’s term is dyspnea. In simple terms, dyspnea means trouble breathing or feeling short of breath.
