I, Michael Menchaca, am a board certified nurse practitioner with extensive education from one of the country's most prestigious schools, Georgetown University. I want to use my education in medicine and nursing studies to give back to the community by changing the way people t

This Nurses Week, Angela and I want to recognize two people who help make Amenity Direct Care what it is every single day — Miguel and Viktoria.

Even in direct primary care, healthcare can be fast, stressful, and demanding. But these two consistently show up with compassion, patience, kindness, humility, and a genuine heart to serve others. They care deeply for our members, support our team, and help create the kind of clinic culture we always hoped to build.

Their work often happens behind the scenes, but its impact is felt in every patient interaction. Im sure I can speak for Miss Garcia, Mrs. M, and myself in saying they both make our jobs so much easier.

“Clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.” — Colossians 3:12

“Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others.” — 1 Peter 4:10

We are incredibly grateful for both of them and the way they serve our patients and our mission every day.

Today’s my birthday.

And I’ve been thinking a lot about how this whole journey has unfolded.

There was a season where I was chasing growth hard. My focus was on Numbers. Expansion. Momentum.

And if I’m honest… there was a lot of pride tied into that with ego driving quite a bit of it.

Thank God, along the way, that started to change once I realized it wasn’t bringing the joy and wholeness I had thought it would.

That’s when gratitude started to take over.

Gratitude for this practice.
Gratitude for our team.
Gratitude for every single member who trusts us with their care.

And above all—gratitude to God.

There’s a simple truth I keep coming back to:

“Every good and perfect gift is from above.”

And when I really sit with that, it changes how I view everything.

This practice isn’t something I built alone.
It’s something I’ve been trusted with.

And that shift has changed how we show up.

We listen more. We slow down. We care deeper.

We stopped trying to prove something—and started focusing on serving one person at a time.

So today, I’m not focused on getting older.

I’m focused on staying grounded.

I’m grateful for where we are.
I’m grateful for what we’re building.
I’m grateful for the people we get to serve.

Just, Thank you.

As Resurrection Sunday comes to a close, I find myself reflecting on something deeper.

First, is the gratitude for what Jesus did for us…
Second is the gratitude for what we’ve been entrusted with.

This practice.
The patients that come to us.
This responsibility to care for people in moments that truly matter.

Because at the end of the day, this isn’t just healthcare.

It’s service.

It’s showing up when someone is hurting.
It’s listening when they feel unheard.
It’s walking with them through things that don’t always show up on labs.

And I’m reminded of this:

“Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.” — Galatians 6:2

That’s the mission.

To carry burdens.
To serve well.
To lead with heart.

And to remember that the work we do each day is bigger than us.

It’s an opportunity to reflect something greater… in the way we care for others.

We continue to ask God to work through us and help us heal those that need healing of any kind.

Good morning Everyone!!

We will be closed this Friday in observance of Good Friday.

This is a time we pause to reflect on the sacrifice and love shown through the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus Christ. It’s a moment that reminds us of grace, renewal, and the deeper purpose behind how we live and serve others.

We’ll reopen with normal hours the following business day.

One of the biggest changes that we've seen in our careers going from a traditional healthcare to a practice like ours is that our patients show so much more gratitude.

Mrs. M and Viktoria both helped one of our members progress from being unable to move her shoulder/arm to regaining full pain free mobility and that member brought them some beautiful flower arrangements to show her appreciation.

Gestures like this help keep us inspired to continue improving our craft.

Such a great accomplishment and we look forward to the impact she'll continue to have for her patients and our team!
