Total Rehab Kids would love to extend a heartfelt thank you to IDEA Quest for inviting our team to be part of the annual Backpacks for Bright Futures community event! 🎒✨The event was an absolute success! We loved helping distribute backpacks and essential school supplies to empower local students as they prepare for the 2026-2027 school year. 📚✏️It was truly inspiring to see so many children eager, confident, and ready to take on a brand-new year of learning. 🤔 What’s the Difference Between Pediatric OT and PT? 💙

While both help children reach their full potential, they focus on different skills:

🖐️ Occupational Therapy (OT): Helps children develop the skills needed for everyday activities like dressing, feeding, handwriting, sensory processing, and fine motor skills.

🏃 Physical Therapy (PT): Helps children improve strength, balance, coordination, posture, mobility, and gross motor skills like crawling, walking, running, and jumping.

Together, OT and PT work as a team to help children become more independent, confident, and successful in their daily lives! 🌟

Happy Sunday!

While it may look like children are simply having fun, every activity in speech therapy has a purpose. Speech-language pathologists carefully select games, toys, books, and activities to target specific communication goals.

🧩 During play, children may be working on:
💬 Expressive and receptive language
🗣️ Speech sound production
👂 Listening and following directions
🤝 Social communication skills
🧠 Problem-solving and critical thinking
🍎 Feeding and swallowing skills (when appropriate)

Play is a child’s natural way of learning, and speech therapists use it as a powerful, evidence-based tool to help children communicate with confidence.
