Not gonna lie, I cringe when restaurants give those out. Because we all know how many ultimately get thrown away. Or melt in your car.

𝕋𝕙𝕖 𝕊𝕚𝕝𝕖𝕟𝕥 𝔾𝕖𝕟𝕖𝕣𝕒𝕥𝕚𝕠𝕟 refers to the demographic cohort of people born roughly between 1928 and 1945, sandwiched between the "Greatest Generation" (who fought in World War II) and the "Baby Boomers".

Their formative years were profoundly shaped by the trauma of the Great Depression and World War II.

Because of the hardships they endured in their youth, this generation is generally defined by resilience and frugality, having strong work ethic, and modesty.

This generation witnessed a lot and formed some interesting habits. Some of which we are unwinding and / or repurposing now. I’ll get into those observations as we roll along. For now, I’ll ask for your thoughts and memories of loved ones who were born during this era. 💛

I’ve gained a newfound love of reading over the past 18 months. Many thanks to my friend Laura for sharing a book by Abby Jimenez with me.

This is her latest release in March 2026. I couldn’t resist any longer and broke down to buy it. Read it in a day.

I’m not usually one to keep books around once they’re read, so it’s become a nice routine to actually use the free, local libraries for my next reading adventure.
