Recently, the medical team at the Warren County facility responded to a medical emergency involving an unresponsive patient who was not breathing. Recognizing the severity of the situation, the team immediately initiated emergency interventions to support the patient's airway and breathing. Their rapid assessment and coordinated response proved critical. Within minutes, the patient began breathing independently and became alert and responsive before being transferred for further evaluation.

We are proud to recognize Jacqueline Wright, RN; Danielle Fifield, RN; Al Jusino, LPN; and Betsi Alger, LPN, for their teamwork and decisive response during a life-threatening emergency!

We are proud to share that PrimeCare Medical’s Vice President of Behavioral Health Services Emily Scordellis, PsyD, CCHP and Director of Public Relations Tommy Williams, BSN, RN, CCHP are featured in the Fall 2026 issue of NCCHC’s CorrectCare magazine.

Their article, “The Psychology of Waiting: Why Time Feels Different in Correctional Health Care,” explores an often-overlooked aspect of care: waiting is more than the passage of time.

In correctional health care, uncertainty, limited control, and unclear expectations can influence how patients experience delays, and how those experiences affect anxiety, frustration, cooperation, and even safety. The article also looks at practical ways health care professionals can make waiting more manageable through communication, transparency, predictability, and acknowledgment.

We are pleased to contribute to the ongoing conversation about improving the patient experience and advancing quality correctional health care. Read the Fall 2026 issue of CorrectCare and find “The Psychology of Waiting” beginning on page 16:https://ncchc.org/wp-content/uploads/Fall-2026-CorrectCare-FINAL-1.pdf

A huge shout-out to our Carroll Team for their outstanding work this past weekend, especially Kelley Griffin, Ellen Haddock, and Jessica Espey! Within a 48-hour period, the team responded to two separate serious events, both of which required quick thinking, teamwork, and strong clinical judgment. In each situation, they stepped up and provided excellent care with professionalism and compassion.

Moments like these demonstrate the difference a dedicated, skilled team can make when it matters most!
