PACEP is deeply saddened by the loss of Dr. Paul Sokoloski. Dr. Sokoloski was a valued PACEP member and emergency physician with Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center, who died on August 19 in a plane crash at Carlisle Airport. Our thoughts are with his family, friends, and the entire Penn State Health emergency medicine team during this difficult time, as well as the two Pennsylvania State Police troopers injured in the crash.

The pilot killed when a Cessna 150 collided with a Pennsylvania State Police helicopter at Carlisle Airport has been identified as Dr. Paul Sokoloski, 57, of Hershey, according to the Cumberland County Coroner’s Office.

Take a breath! 🌬️

You can regain your center by practicing square breathing (box breathing) during stressful situations. Find a quiet spot and focus on your breathing in 4-second intervals. This helps calm your body and mind. This can also be beneficial to your patients too!
