π² EATING OUT - Best/Healthiest Restaurants in Harrisonburgπ΄π₯π₯©
I don't know about you but the healthier I've gotten, the more annoying it is to eat out at a restaurant and then feel like absolute poo afterward--foggy-headed, tired, thirsty, and bloated.
I believe the main reason for this is because of how many restaurants (i.e. 99% of them) use toxic omega-6 seed oils for cooking and frying π«. Avoiding fried foods on the menu is a good start, but sometimes you just want to eat someone else's cooking without worrying whether you're going to feel okay afterward π

In Harrisonburg, we do have a few options of real, whole-foods cooking without seed oils:
π BREAKFAST/BRUNCH
β Magpie Diner (SERIOUSLY amazing π)
β Broad Porch Coffee Co (surprising new gem)
β Friendly City Food Co-op Sunday Brunch Bar π or, pre-wrapped sausage and egg biscuit for easy pickup during the week
π’ LUNCH/DINNER FAST FOOD
β Friendly City Food Co-op hot food bar open between 11:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. M-F (my fave - menus curated by real chefs and always a little dessert option π)
β A Bowl of Good
β Tropical Smoothie Cafe
β Chipotle (not necessarily seed-oil-free but still better than most)
π£ LUNCH/DINNER SIT-DOWN
β Local Chop and Grill (their duck-fat fries are not to be missed! π)
β Ridge Room (5th floor of the Hyatt Place)
β Rocktown Kitchen
β Ilyria Mediterranean restaurant ($$ but nice for a special occasion)
I have heard about πΏ Roots Natural Kitchen being open, but I looked online and they use canola oil so while they are definitely a much better option, they are not completely seed-oil-free.
And that is it! What restaurants have you found to use high-quality ingredients you feel good after ingesting? Please share as I would love to know more options.π

(I know I know, some of you are sad that Chick-fil-A π did not make the list πππ€£)
