One of the best parts of our SCRUBS In Healthcare class is seeing the next generation of healthcare professionals learn alongside those who inspire them every day. 💚

This year, we were proud to welcome several students whose moms are part of the Cass Regional family!

Casey Shultz, BSN, RN, OCN, Clinical Nurse Educator, with her daughter Liv, who will be a freshman at Pleasant Hill High School.

Jessica Patterson, RN, BSN, Pain Clinic, with her daughters Abygail, who will be a sophomore, and Alayna, who will be a freshman at Adrian High School.

Tonya Myers, RN, MSN, NE-BC, Quality and Patient Safety Director, with her daughter Rosalynn, who will be a sophomore at Sherwood High School.

We love seeing families share a passion for healthcare and hope this experience inspires our students as they explore future careers. Thank you to our staff for mentoring the next generation and to these students for spending a couple days with us! 🩺

Our 20 local high school students are wrapping up their SCRUBS (Student Centered Readiness and Understanding of Basic Skills) in Healthcare class.

On day two, students learned lifesaving skills with Stop the Bleed, explored emergency care with EMS, and spent time with our Dietitian, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy & Speech-Language Pathology teams. They also got an inside look at Surgery, the Behavioral Health Unit, practiced restraint safety, and learned proper wound dressing techniques.

A huge thank you to our incredible Cass Regional staff and community partners for sharing their expertise and inspiring the next generation of healthcare professionals. We also extend our sincere appreciation to the Cass Regional Medical Center Foundation for making this program possible through their continued support! 💚

Day 1 of SCRUBS is officially in the books!

What an incredible start to our SCRUBS (Student Centered Readiness and Understanding of Basic Skills) program! Today, local students got an inside look at the many career opportunities healthcare has to offer through hands-on learning and interactive experiences.

Throughout the day, students explored:

From practicing essential skills to seeing firsthand how our teams work together to care for patients, the day was filled with learning, teamwork, and fun.

For nearly 3 years, Windy has been one of the friendly faces welcoming patients and visitors to Cass Regional. Whether she's answering questions, offering directions, or simply greeting someone with a smile, she's always ready to lend a helping hand.

Meet Kristen Rew, Foundation Assistant! Kristen has been a valued member of the Cass Regional Foundation team for 4.5 years and will celebrate 5 years with us this November.

Kristen went back to school after nearly 20 years because she enjoyed fixing a mistake so much that it inspired her to continue her education!
