❤️ A 24-foot Tin Man kneels on the shore of Hart Lake holding a giant red heart, and the town's name is no coincidence.
Hart, Michigan. Where the Tin Man finally found his heart.
The sculpture at Hart Commons was built by Bill Secunda, a five-time ArtPrize artist, and hauled to town on a flatbed from Pennsylvania. The mayor spotted a similar piece at ArtPrize 2021 and knew it belonged here. The community voted on the pose, picked the lakeside spot, and raised $50,000 to bring it to life.
It's the centerpiece of the H-Art Project, an effort to fill downtown with public art. Interactive chimes sit nearby. Murals line the buildings. The whole block is waking up around it.
