Baxter here!
Are you ready for another Fun fact Friday?!
Did you know? It is NOT your bones cracking!
It is a scientific process called cavitation.
Here is the quick breakdown:
𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗙𝗹𝘂𝗶𝗱: Your joints are filled with a natural lubricant called synovial fluid.
𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗲𝘁𝗰𝗵: When a joint is gently stretched, the space inside it suddenly expands.
𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗚𝗮𝘀: That quick change in pressure releases trapped gases (like nitrogen and oxygen).
𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗣𝗼𝗽: The sound is just those tiny gas bubbles forming and releasing!
𝗙𝘂𝗻 𝗙𝗮𝗰𝘁: Once a joint pops, it takes about 20 minutes for those gases to dissolve back into the fluid. That is why you can't crack the same joint twice right away! ⏳
The best part? The adjustment is working perfectly even if you don't hear a sound at all.
