Your bladder health matters more than you may think.

Healthy bladder habits can make a big difference in how comfortably and completely you empty your bladder. Try these simple tips:

• Give yourself enough time. Don’t rush.
• Sit comfortably and relax your pelvic floor.
• Avoid straining or pushing to empty.
• Lean slightly forward and keep your feet supported.
• If you still feel full, pause, relax, and try again.

If you’re frequently rushing to the bathroom, having difficulty emptying, leaking, or feeling like you can’t fully empty your bladder, it may be time to talk to a pelvic health physical therapist.

Your bladder deserves the right support.

Taping for Diastasis Recti: What You Need to Know 👇✨

Taping isn’t a magical fix on its own, but when added to a targeted postpartum rehabilitation routine, Kinesio tape (KT) can be a fantastic supportive tool! 🩸Research shows that pairing Kinesio taping with targeted abdominal exercises improves inter-rectus distance (IRD) significantly more than exercise alone—especially for separation above the belly button.

How KT Helps in Postpartum Recovery:
🔹 Supports the Linea Alba: Acts as an external tactile guide to reduce tension on stretched connective tissue.
🔹 Facilitates Muscle Engagement: Stimulates skin mechanoreceptors to encourage deeper abdominal wall firing during core exercises.
🔹 Relieves Discomfort: Helps reduce lower back pain and improves overall trunk stability so you can move comfortably.

Watch the video to see the taping technique! 🎥📌

Want the complete, step-by-step breakdown on how to measure, prep, and apply the tape safely at home?

💬 Comment "DRTAPING" below, and we will send you the detailed video link directly to your DMs!

Disclaimer: This video and post are for educational and informational purposes only and do not constitute medical advice. Please consult with a physical therapist or qualified healthcare professional to determine if Kinesio taping is appropriate for your individual condition.

Let's Talk About PCOS/PMOS and Your Pelvic Floor

You may know that PCOS/PMOS affects hormones, ovulation, and metabolism, but did you know it can also impact your pelvic floor?

While PCOS/PMOS doesn't directly cause pelvic floor dysfunction, many people with PCOS/PMOS experience symptoms that can affect these muscles, including:

• Chronic pelvic pain

• Pain during in*******se

• Constipation or difficulty with bowel movements

• Urinary urgency or leaking

• Muscle tension in the pelvic region

Your pelvic floor plays an important role in bladder, bowel, and sexual function. When these muscles become tight, weak, or uncoordinated, symptoms can become even more challenging.

Pelvic floor physical therapy can help identify the source of your symptoms and create a personalized treatment plan to improve comfort, function, and quality of life.

If you're living with PCOS/PMOS and experiencing pelvic discomfort, you don't have to manage it alone.

Book an appointment with Hudson Valley Pelvic Therapy to learn how pelvic floor therapy can help.

Not everything you see on Instagram is good medical advice.

Especially when it comes to your pelvic floor.

From “do this exercise for a stronger pelvic floor” to “just do kegels”;

Pelvic health advice online can be oversimplified, misleading, or simply not right for you.

Your pelvic floor is not one-size-fits-all.

What helps one person may not be appropriate for another.

Before you take pelvic floor advice from social media, pause, check the source, and talk to a qualified pelvic floor physical therapist.

Save this as your reminder: Don’t believe everything you see online. Breathe, question, and get the right advice for YOUR body.

It can stem from tight pelvic floor muscles, core weakness, scar tissue, posture, pregnancy, childbirth, endometriosis, bladder or bowel dysfunction, and so much more. The key isn't just masking the pain—it's finding the real cause.
