It is with deep sorrow that Mr. Michael F. Doyle, Jr. announces the death of his beloved mother, Mrs. Rachel Adams Medlin, 84.

Mrs. Medlin died peacefully on Thursday, August 13, 2026. The Directors of Brown-Pennington-Atkins Funeral Home & Crematory are caring for the family. A graveside funeral service to honor her life will be held at 12 o'clock on Monday, August 17, 2026, in Magnolia Cemetery, with The Rev. Jeff Gardner officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.

Rachel was born on Friday, January 23, 1942, in Hartsville, SC, to the late William Speight Adams Jr. and the late Lucy Boyd Adams. Her beloved sister Elizabeth Adams Kehl (William Kehl) predeceased her. She is survived by her son Michael Doyle of Charlotte and by her extended family of cousins, nephews, and their children who were all dear to her.

Rachel graduated from Hartsville High School in 1960, completed a two-year Business course at Winthrop in 1963, and got a degree in Education from Coker College in 1977.

She enjoyed reading and watching mystery tales, enjoyed both vegetable and decorative gardening, and loved spending time with family and friends. Throughout her life, she took part in social activities such as bridge and dancing, and in her later years enjoyed playing dominoes and the simple pleasure of having coffee and tea with friends. She adopted numerous stray cats and enjoyed sitting with her friends' dogs when she grew too old...

Mrs. Harrison was born on Wednesday, March 20th, 1946, in Chesterfield County, South Carolina. She is the daughter of Gladd Gainey Sr and Ellen Gainey Weatherford.

A funeral service to honor her life will be held at 1 o'clock on Friday, August 14, 2026 in the chapel at Brown-Pennington-Atkins. Pastor Cody Howle will officiate. The family will receive friends from 5:00 - 7:00 pm on Thursday, August 13, 2026 at the funeral home.

Annie was a dedicated and respected correctional officer who proudly served both the South Carolina Department of Corrections and the North Carolina Department of Corrections. Throughout her career, she demonstrated commitment, strength, and professionalism in service to others. Upon her retirement, Annie left behind a legacy of dedicated public service and a career of which she and her family could be proud.

Beyond her professional life, Annie was known for her love of cooking and baking. She found great joy in preparing meals and baking cakes for her family and neighbors. Mr. Connell, the widower of Patricia "Patsy" Thompson Connell, entered into rest on Sunday, August 9, 2026. The Directors of Brown-Pennington-Atkins Funeral Home & Crematory are caring for the family.

A graveside funeral service to honor his life will be held at 10 o'clock on Thursday, August 13, 2026, in Magnolia Cemetery with The Rev. Joshua Blythe officiating. The United States Army will render Military Honors. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 pm on Wednesday, August 12, 206, at Brown-Pennington-Atkins Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in his honor to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758516, Topeka, KS 66675-8516.

Mr. Connell was born on Thursday, June 8, 1944, in Hartsville, SC. He is the son of the late Clyde L. Connell and the late Zelma Knight Connell.

Bill graduated from Hartsville High School in 1962 and earned a B.S. in Business Administration from Campbell College (University) in 1967.

He married his high school sweetheart, Patsy, in 1965, and they were married for 56 years. They have one daughter, Mary Beth. Bill loved his family and had a tender-hearted side. He was always generous and willing to help family and friends.

Bill spent his career at Sonoco working in the IPD Sales division from 1967 – 2001.

It is with deep sorrow that Gregory Casswell Huggins II announces the death of his beloved father, Mr. Gregory Casswell Huggins, 67.

Mr. Huggins entered into rest on Wednesday, July 15, 2026. The Directors of Brown-Pennington-Atkins Funeral Home & Crematory are caring for the family.

Mr. Huggins was born on Friday, June 26, 1959, in Bennettsville, SC. He is the son of the late Vernon J. Huggins and the late Elizabeth Weaver Huggins-Barefoot.

Mr. Huggins was a member of Prospect Methodist Church. He was a skilled millright by trade and took pride in his work and was known for his dedication, craftsmanship, and strong work ethic. He also proudly served his country as a member of the United States Marine Corps, a service that remained an important part of who he was throughout his life.

Outside of work, Mr. Huggins enjoyed the freedom of the open road on his Harley-Davidson motorcycles and had a life-long appreciation for classic automobiles. He found great joy in collecting old cars, admiring their history, and sharing that passion with others.

Mr. Huggins will be remembered for his hardworking spirit, his love of his country, and the friendships he made throughout his life. His memory will be cherished by all that knew and loved him.

He is survived by his son, Gregory Casswell Huggins II; daughter in law, Lindsey Bridges Huggins; nephew, Vernon Wayne Huggins Jr.
