We're coming to the end of National Chili Month. The debate about the best ingredients for chili continues! Whether you like beans or not, chili can be a fairly healthy meal if you make it yourself. Add healthy vegetables like sweet potato or serve it over a roasted sweet potato for a heartier meal. Consider swapping some of the fattier meat with poultry. Or, add fresh herbs to add flavor and vitamins.

All month long, the Castle of Muskogee transforms for Halloween with haunted attractions! Enjoy everything from nighttime entertainment to games, food and shopping, to activities ranging from family-friendly fun to full-fledged scares.

For a gentler Halloween experience, families can explore the Enchanted Boardwalk, ride the Spooky Express or Haunted Hayride, and try the Monster Blaster Haunt. Then gather around the bonfire for free ghost stories and enjoy the nightly Monster Dance is another zero-scare activity open to all ages. Or take a walk on the spooky side with attractions including Jester’s Revenge, Casa Morte, Domus Horrificus, Trail of Blood, and Arachna’s Lair. There are 12 haunts, rides, and games in all, including Zombie Paintball. Then enjoy the Castle Village with more than 20 merchants, food and drinks, and live entertainment.

Don’t miss out on live events happening at the Castle like:
Friday, October 9 — Canned Food Drive: Bring two canned food items to receive one half-price single-haunt ticket. The offer does not apply to combo packs.
Saturday, October 10 — Fright Night Costume Contest: Visitors can enter the Castle’s Halloween costume competition.

Festival-only admission to the Village is $5, or admission is included with the purchase of a Haunt Ticket. Parking is free. Individual attractions and combination packages are available separately.
Gates open at 5:30 PM, indoor haunts begin at 6:00 PM, and outdoor haunts open after dark. Minors under 16 must be accompanied by an adult, and unaccompanied guests under 18 must present photo ID.
