Growing up in public schools, I formed beliefs about myself: that I didn’t like learning, new concepts were hard, and I definitely didn’t like school. Often, comparing it to a prison… as a kid I just wanted to be outside!

Fast forward to college, loved it. I was earning a degree that felt meaningful and would provide for my daughter and I. I graduated Magna cm Laude and passed my national licensure examination on the first attempt.

Working as a PTA for nearly a decade and as a Licensed Massage Therapist for over 5 years, and I still geek out about all there is to learn!

Turns out I love learning, applied sciences of healing are my jam! This week I get to study under a woman who could be a doctor of Massage Therapy. The SMRT technique she developed works with your body to reduce guarding and swelling, and allow for space and improved function of muscles, fascia, lymph and a regulated nervous system.
Next week I get to go play with sound science and immerse myself in nature and the healing power of vibration through sound and music 🎶

As happy as I am to be here, able to take this time to grow and refine my skills and ability to serve, I am looking forward to bringing it all home and sharing with our community 🙏🏻

A lot has happened in less than two months time.

The 1380 building had a small fire that left us without electricity and unable to work there. May 9, 12:55pm.

See my first client at the Lansing Mall May 12, 10:00am.

Find new space and begin updating. June 6-11th.

Get Massage and Bodywork room functional at permanent space and see first client, June 12, 8:30am.

Pack up and move from old space and temporary space into new space. Every moment in between since June 11.

It’s been a lot.

To be honest I still feel spread thin. Pushing through and taking it one breath, one box, one day at a time. And grateful to be walking in divine timing with Spirit.

The space is mostly finished! And, in time for us to get away for our anniversary and to celebrate what we Do love about this country. 🫶🏻🌈✨

We will be getting lost in the woods, chasing waterfalls and taking siestas on the beach for a week. To unplug, to dream, and to sing to the earth, the water, the wind, and the cosmic fires in a land I love so dearly.

I know it is a good life because I look forward to seeing you all when we return as much as I look forward to the adventure in nature ahead of me.

I will be back in the office Wednesday, July 8th!

Until then, be well, take such good care of yourselves, and I will catch you on the other side!

Slow and Steady

The space is coming together. Floors are all done! This weekend is the finishing touches; hanging curtains, placing crystals, balancing function and flow. Creating a space that lets you breathe a bit fuller, rest a little deeper, and move with intention and purpose!

I can’t wait to welcome you all for our open house this fall!! 🍂 New Community Offerings will be added to the schedule including small-group yoga classes, meditation classes, sound journeys, drum circles, dream circles, shamanic journeys, and womb support classes! ✨

To be honest this dream is 13+ years in the making. Thirteen years of PT, Massage, Yoga, Shamanism, and enough hours of continuing education to piece together my own holistic doctorate. Thirteen years of hoping, taking leaps of faith, resisting, hustling, getting out of my own way, and praying for the space🌙💃🏻🔥

It’s been a journey.

And now we are almost settled in💙 almost ready for the big reveal💚 almost ready to welcome you to the new and improved True North Wellness Mi 💜

It’s pretty fitting, celebrating Father’s Day on the day we celebrate the longest day of the year, the Summer Solstice. In many cultures the sun is the galactic father figure, shining down on us everyday and encouraging us to grow, and to soak up the light!

Today I want to say thank you to all that Dads that show up for their families and their communities! It is an absolute honor to be a part of your wellness journeys!

Thank you not only for all you do, but also for all you are! Like sunshine in the lives of so many! Thank you for showing up, standing up, and for using your light, your strength and your voices to protect, encourage, empower, and to make the world a better, safer, and usually funner place!

I also want to shout out to my Dad for imparting many gifts, including, a serious work ethic, genuine care for people, and having fun in nature 💙 and to my husband for not only being the best Father I know to our kiddos, but also for all the extra hard work he has put in to make the space we all come to for self care, beautiful and so amazing!!

We appreciate you!!
