In each organization there is typically one person or a group who have been volunteering their time and energy year after year. The Continuing Service Award recognizes the long-term volunteers who continue to make an ongoing impact.

For the last 21 years, Bishop David Hustwick has been dedicated to helping at Thornapple Manor. His compassion and willingness to provide spiritual comfort and support to all there – regardless of religion – has been a true asset, especially during the difficult COVID years.

No matter the time of day, if he gets a call to any of the 3 campus buildings at the Manor, he is on his way to be by the resident’s side.

We received 8 letters of support for this person, all saying the same thing – he is a blessing! He is dedicated! And his presence brings peace and comfort to those he sees; staff, current residents, those who are passing and loved ones of those passing.

For his 21 years and counting of service, bringing kindness and love to Thornapple Manor, we honored this year’s Continuing Service Award recipient, Bishop David Hustwick. He was unable to attend the event; however, Thornapple Manor staff accepted on his behalf.

Meet Anna Timmer, Resident Care Coordinator for Sugarbush Boulevard! Over the past eight years, Anna has grown from CNA to Life Enrichment team member and now proudly serves in her current RCC role. Her kindness and genuine passion for serving others make a lasting impact on our residents, families, and team every single day.

When she’s not at work, Anna enjoys spending time with her husband Nick, their two-year-old son Walker, and their two Golden Retrievers, Charlie and Harlow. 🐾

Thank you, Anna, for the heart you bring to Thornapple Manor. We are so grateful to have you as part of our family and look forward to all the smiles and connections you’ll continue to create! ✨

Word continues to spread throughout local wildlife, and now Harvest Pointe is on the list of great getaways! After Jane Doe crashed through a window and then Woodrow Chuckson tried the front door, now the Garbage Patch Kids are inquiring about room availability!

Carol plays an important role in keeping things running smoothly whether she’s greeting visitors, answering the phone, assisting a coworker, or managing her Accounts Payable responsibilities. The nominations highlighted her genuine warmth and care for others, positive attitude, and willingness to help anyone who needs it. Her welcoming sense of humor brings laughter and comfort to those around her, and she is always happy to share both her knowledge and time with others.

Today we celebrate an incredible milestone for Hope Bailey, Assistant Director of Nursing and MDS Queen, as she retires after 30 years of dedicated service at Thornapple Manor.

For three decades, Hope has provided compassionate care, comfort, and kindness to countless residents, families, and coworkers. Her commitment and heart have made a lasting impact on so many lives, and she will be deeply missed by all who have had the privilege of working alongside her.
