Formerly known as Luther Woods Convalescent Center, our private, independently-owned skilled nursing center and rehabilitation facility was built in 1976. Founded to provide quality long-term care for the elderly, our philosophy has evolved over time as more people wish to age at home. By establishing ourselves as a premier rehabilitation center, we strive to help our short-term residents achieve

a quicker recovery from acute-care medical issues and our long-term residents maintain good health and an excellent quality of life.

This week we celebrated National Chocolate Chip Cookie Day. The chocolate chip cookie is consistently voted the most favorite cookie in the world. It was only fitting that we served delicious chocolate cookies to our favorite staff. Let's give a "Chip Chip Hooray" to our awesome staff at Luther Woods.

At Luther Woods our residents and Activity staff took a different route for our fishing activity. Our residents got to make their own aquarium for their room. This resulted in a fun conversation of having a tank and fish when they were younger. More importantly, no fish were hurt in this activity.... LOL.

Our Luther Woods residents get a chance to test their luck on several games of chance at carnival day. Unfortunately, the heat turned it into an indoor carnival. Residents played the wheel of fortune, the dice game, and the ball in the basket game for some delicious prizes

Luther Woods is happy to announce the retirement of Manny Alilio, RN, our Unit A Wing Nurse Manager. Manny has been with us for a couple of years. He came to us with glowing reviews from many of our staff who worked with him in other facilities. Manny plans to travel, spend time with his family, and, believe it or not, work some shifts here at Luther Woods. Manny was treated to a delicious luncheon catered by Marie, one of his unit CNAs. We wish you the best of luck, Manny.

At Luther Woods we celebrated our Fathers on their special day. Our staff who were working on their day received chocolate and a gift card. Our residents were treated to some chocolate and a sundae bar. To all the Fathers in the world, we salute you.
