It’s been a while since I’ve done a formal intro, and there are a good bit of new followers here, So.. Hi 👋

My name is Courtney Anderson. I’m a wife and mom to two kids, both born here in Hattiesburg. One via c section while I was finishing my senior year at USM, and the next one at home during the height of Covid. I graduated from Southern Miss in 2016 with a BS in Recreation and a Minor in Psychology. !

Through my own experiences with home birth after cesarean, came an undeniable calling into birthwork. I completed DONA training in 2021 and took my first birth that year. Since October 2021, I’ve had the honor of attending births in every capacity from photographer to doula, midwife assistant to midwifery student. As a doula, I support home and hospital birth.

I’m currently in phase 2 of the PEP process and hope to gain my CPM (Certified Professional Midwife) through NARM within the next two years. My goal is to bring evidence based care to families across the Pine Belt, where it is so desperately needed. I’m passionate about VBAC, birthing rights, unbiased informed consent, as well as the midwifery model of care. I’m also a sucker for someone discovering their power through birth. Gets me every time! 🥹

If I’m not at a birth, you can find me spending time with my kids, being anywhere near the water, working on a home project, traveling, or visiting friends and family in PCB FL, where I was raised.
