You’ve probably heard it before — that satisfying crack or pop when getting adjusted. But what is it really?
That sound is called cavitation. It happens when a joint is gently adjusted and a small amount of gas (mainly nitrogen) is released from the fluid within the joint. Think of it like a tiny bubble “popping” inside your joint — it’s completely normal and safe!
Important things to know:
• The sound doesn’t mean bones are cracking or being broken
• Not every adjustment makes a noise — and that doesn’t mean it’s not working
• The real benefit comes from the joint movement, improved alignment, and nervous system support, not the sound itself
So the next time you hear a pop, just know your body is responding and your joints are getting the relief they need! ✨
