Please join us in congratulating Jorge Salinas, Respiratory Therapist, our June Distinguished Service Award winner! 👏
Jorge is a steady, reliable presence in the respiratory department, and is always willing to help out as needed. However, his ability to put patients at ease is the real story. One patient talked about how he reminded her of her father, who had passed away, and how his presence always made her feel safe.
Another patient went out of his way to tell us that all of our staff are good, but Jorge goes above and beyond to make him feel comfortable, safe, and well cared for. He said that Jorge is never rushed and takes all the time that is needed to make sure everything is okay. The patient said he would hug Jorge if he could and wanted to make sure as many people as possible knew about the exceptional care he provides — extra care that is especially important for patients who have anxiety due to their pulmonary conditions.
