We have been working with the archetype of The Father in my visual journaling course these past two weeks .

We explored the archetype’s aspects on the page, translating their meaning into visual representations:
Linearity
Borders
Frames
Separation
Order

It gets personal - sometimes uncomfortable - and this work is a beautiful way to express ourselves outside of the constraints of language. It is a dialogue with symbolism, sensations, and imagination.
Growth happens on the edges.

This week was about The Mother archetype in my visual journaling course at .
We explored symbols and the attributes of the Mother, and how to integrate them in our journal pages.

I can tell you that it is a challenging topic, whatever your age, and working with art and archetypes can be a gentle and illuminating way to tread these waters.

We played with circles, some participants noticed profound synchronicities, others reflected on their mother tongue, and I personally navigated one of my most stressful times as a mother. As they say: you teach what you need. 🙏🏼

The way I work with journaling reflects non-linearity and imagination.
Sometimes I write in many different shapes that mirror how I feel.
Sometimes, I start with a list of words and let it morph into a phrase or a longer narrative.
Very often, I end up with the same words, but in a deeper context and meaning.

Most of the time, I feel relief and understanding at the end of my session - even if I just wrote one page. I cry, I feel lighter, I take a spontaneous deep breath.

Over the years, the exercises I have developed in my journaling practice have helped me go deeper - they are tools for the psychic goldmining process.

“A symbol is a living, organic entity which acts as a releaser and transformer of psychic energy.” Edward Edinger

Every beginning in my art or writing comes from a symbol. Sometimes, it is an image that keeps coming up in my mind or a dream, a word that grabs my attention, a story or myth that feels very charged. In this quote, Edinger’s mention of psychic energy refers to the energy that comes from our psyche and relates to our unconscious.

Creativity is a process of unraveling and uncovering that energy in the language of the psyche to find a deeper meaning to our experiences and learn more about ourselves.

I find it so powerful, and even after years of practice, I am in awe of where it can take me.

Join me at and on Tuesday, March 31st, to celebrate Spring.

This is a creative and fun evening to create the cover of a journal that will be your companion this Spring season. We will begin with a meditative practice to be "in the flow" and center our creativity. Then we will explore simple mixed-media techniques such as mark-making, collage, and hand sewing to create the cover of our journal.

This is a space centered on finding meaning, creating connection, and taking time for yourself. 💖

- All materials and instructions will be provided, and no prior experience is required
- Registration & details in bio and on my website

Last Fall, after a dream, I started a new Soul Book.

This is the most nourishing and enriching practice I have, and I work with art to enter into a process, into a dialogue with my soul. The goal is not to fix or find a solution or resolve anything, but to explore.

The movement of the process itself is at the center.

Images, symbols, and sensations are more potent to our psyche than narratives. They free us and expand the field in which we grow.

From my last newsletter - New Seasons, New Question:

The turning of the seasons is a reminder that we change just as our environment, daylight, temperature, and age.

Spring is traditionally, and logically, associated with renewal. And it is a good time to ask ourselves:
- “What do I want to renew?”
(Not everything needs to be renewed).
- How am I different this season, compared to last Spring, or a few years ago?

And always, taking a fresh perspective on the eternally relevant question:
“What do I need?”

I am nearing the end of a three-month somatic trauma therapies training, finishing the year in softness and repair to balance the intensity and depth of the journey.

Trauma is the Great Fragmenter.
The inquiry is: what did it fragment? Self confidence, intimate relationships, body connection, individuation process, dysregulation of motivation, interpersonal connection… most likely it touches several layers and areas.

As someone who works with body awareness and helps people to find balance and relieve pain, this topic is central to my practice.
