Pike County is offering an Advanced EMT (AEMT) Course for EMTs ready to expand their skills and take their patient care to the next level.

AEMTs provide an important bridge between BLS and paramedic-level care, with additional training in areas such as IV access, medication administration, advanced airway management, and treatment of medical and trauma emergencies.

Great multi-agency training last night! Crews worked together on a search and rescue scenario involving an injured hunter in the woods, utilizing drone technology, GPS coordinates, and patient packaging.

Thank you to all of the departments and personnel who participated. Training together helps us respond better together.

The members of Lackawaxen EMS extend our deepest condolences to the family, friends, and loved ones of the individual involved in the Delaware River incident.

Our thoughts are also with the other individuals involved, the responders, and everyone affected by this heartbreaking tragedy. We are grateful to every agency and mutual-aid partner who assisted throughout the response and search efforts.

Please keep all those grieving in your thoughts and respect the family’s privacy during this incredibly difficult time.

Lackawaxen EMS had a great time at Hemlock Farms Public Safety’s Night Out last night!

Our crew enjoyed meeting so many local families and children, sharing a closer look at our lifesaving equipment, and connecting with the community we’re proud to serve.

⚠️High Water Warning - Mandatory Life Jacket Wear⚠️

The Delaware River is expected to reach eight feet or above over the next two days. Life jackets are mandatory for all people in and on the water when the Montague Gage reads eight feet or above. River accesses close at 15 feet or above.

Avoiding river activities during times of high water is recommended, as the water becomes opaque and can cover or hide strainers and dangerous obstacles.

Stay safe. Stay afloat. Wear your life jacket! 🦺

Even when the water is below eight feet, every individual must have their own life jacket within easy reach. Every individual 12 years of age and younger must wear a life jacket in any vessel, including tubes.
