When the hips lose mobility, the lower back often ends up doing more than it was meant to.
That can show up as:
•Low back tension
•Discomfort after sitting
•Stiffness when standing up
•Feeling restricted when bending or twisting
In my massage practice, one of the most common patterns I see is a low back that's working harder when the hips aren't moving well.
Rather than focusing on one isolated area, I often work with the body as a whole -especially the glutes, hip flexors, and the deep hip rotators- because of how strongly they influence pelvic and lower back movement.
When those areas move more freely, the whole system often feels more balanced.
If your back has been asking for attention, it might be worth listening to what your hips are saying.
