We are excited to welcome Kristen Alexander, a Family Nurse Practitioner with nearly two decades of healthcare experience, to our team!

A Farmerville native with deep family roots in Claiborne Parish, Kristen is honored to serve the community. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Master of Science in Nursing – Family Nurse Practitioner from the University of Louisiana at Monroe.

Kristen has experience in women’s health, home health, and primary care. She is passionate about preventive medicine, chronic disease management, women’s health, hormone optimization, and providing compassionate care for patients of all ages.

Haynesville native and retired NFL standout Demetric Evans returned home July 30 to invest in the next generation of athletes during his 20th Annual 92 Blessings Football Camp at Haynesville High School.

The free camp welcomed Haynesville athletes for an afternoon of football instruction, mentorship and encouragement led by Evans, who enjoyed a successful NFL career with the Washington Redskins, San Francisco 49ers and Dallas Cowboys. Today, Evans continues to serve the game through his work with the NFL Players Association, helping support current and former professional athletes.This year's camp was sponsored by Claiborne Aware in partnership with Claiborne Memorial Medical Center and the Claiborne Healthcare Foundation. In addition to promoting athletic development, the event emphasized player health and safety. With temperatures soaring during the day, Dr. Alex Hart, a second-year Family Medicine resident at Claiborne Memorial Medical Center, was on site throughout the camp to monitor participants and help ensure they remained safe in the extreme heat.

Evans said it is always rewarding to return to his hometown and give back to a community that helped shape his football journey. “Haynesville has always been known for producing tough, disciplined football players, and this group is no different," Evans said. "I believe Tornado football has all the ingredients for another outstanding season. If they continue to work hard, stay focused and play for each other, I expect they'll make this community proud once again."

Haynesville High School is one of Louisiana's most storied football programs, capturing 18 state championships, including an undefeated championship season in 2025. The Tornado tradition of excellence continues to inspire young athletes throughout north Louisiana.

The partnership between 92 Blessings, Claiborne Aware, Claiborne Memorial Medical Center and the Claiborne Healthcare Foundation reflects a shared commitment to supporting the physical and mental well-being of local youth while encouraging healthy lifestyles and positive mentorship.

Claiborne Memorial Medical Center Conducts Emergency Preparedness Drill

On Wednesday, July 15, Claiborne Memorial Medical Center conducted a comprehensive Emergency Preparedness Drill with the assistance of several community partners who helped plan and execute the exercise.

Participating agencies included:

● Chief Deputy Brian Driskill, Claiborne Parish Sheriff’s Department

● Dennis Butcher, Director, Claiborne Parish Office of Emergency Preparedness

● Todd Derrick, Governor’s Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness (GOHSEP) Region 7 Coordinator

● Knox Andress, Designated Regional Coordinator for Louisiana Region 7 HHC / ESF-8

● Troopers Evan Murphy, Anthony Visciotti, and Jacob Winiarski, Louisiana State Police Troop G

Emergency preparedness drills are a vital part of ensuring hospitals are ready to respond to unexpected situations. These exercises allow healthcare providers, first responders, and emergency management agencies to strengthen communication, evaluate response procedures, identify opportunities for improvement, and enhance coordination during emergencies.

“Preparedness is essential to protecting our patients, visitors, staff, and community,” said CMMC Chief Executive Officer Tina Haynes. “We are grateful for the expertise and support of our community partners who helped make this exercise a success. Working together before an emergency occurs helps ensure we can respond quickly, effectively, and safely when every second counts.”
