or patients with astigmatism. For your convenience we stock many popular brands of contact lenses in the office. We diagnose, manage and treat many eye conditions such as infections, allergies, and dry eyes as well as eye injuries. Our cutting edge technology assists the doctors in the diagnosis and management of many eye diseases including glaucoma, macular degeneration, and diabetic eye disease. We also co-manage with skilled surgeons in the areas of cataract and LASIK surgery. Our goal is to provide our patients with healthy eyes and clear, comfortable vision from infancy through adulthood. Dr. Hattan is originally from Concordia, Kansas. He graduated from Concordia High School, Kansas State University and Southern California College of Optometry. Dr. Hattan has practiced in Hays since 1981. He merged his practice with Dr. Jerry Akers in January of 2000. The practice relocated at that time to the current location at 1517 E. 27th. Dr. Akers retired in March of 2010. Dr. Hattan is a member of the Kansas Optometric Association and the American Optometric Association. Dr. Mondero is originally from Ness City, Kansas. Dr. Mondero completed his undergraduate work at Southwestern College in Winfield, Kansas, where he received a Bachelor of Science in Biology. He then attended Northeastern State University Oklahoma College of Optometry in Tahlequah, Oklahoma. Dr. Mondero and his wife Katrina enjoy time with their two sons. He and his family have recently moved from Manhattan to Hays.
