On this month’s Eye on the Wyoming Valley, we visit Joe’s Pizza where owner Joe has been making pizza in the same location for an incredible 63 years. At 80 years old, retirement is nowhere in sight for this hardworking local legend who still works alone — answering the phones, making the pizzas, and greeting the customers he considers family. Joe’s story is one of perseverance, sacrifice, and dedication that began in the difficult post-war years when he helped his mother put food on the table while his father battled illness after serving his country. Today, his small pizza shop remains a place filled with conversation, tradition, and inspiration, and we are honored to share his remarkable story.
