For Orpha Smigaj, nursing has always been more than a profession, it's been a calling.

From caring for her siblings with a childhood nurse kit to building a remarkable 40-year career at St. Peter's Health, Orpha has spent decades supporting families through some of life's most meaningful moments.

Over the years, Orpha has witnessed incredible changes in maternity care and helped shape a more family-centered experience for generations of patients. But what continues to inspire her is what has always mattered most, empowering women and walking alongside families as they grow.

One of the most special parts of Orpha's story is that she was born at St. Peter's and later returned to serve in the very place where her own journey began.

Helena OB/GYN is looking to hire a professional receptionist. As the first person our patients encounter, you will set the tone for our office. Therefore, we are looking for someone with excellent interpersonal skills and a warm demeanor. Along with making our patients feel welcome, you will also be responsible for managing incoming calls, scheduling appointments, and performing other administrative tasks.

Our office is open Monday through Friday, 8 am to 4:30 pm, and the ideal candidate will be available a majority of the time, although we can be flexible with hours depending on the candidate and circumstance. Join us on June 1st from 1–3 PM by Tenmile creek (the creek, not the brewery) for a quiet time of remembrance and connection. Together, we’ll build small boats from bark, leaves, and sticks and release them in the creek.
