One of my favorite volunteer events of the year. 💛
This was my second year volunteering at Bike MS: Bay to Bay, providing post-ride massage for cyclists after they completed an incredible challenge.
A few facts about the event:
• The National Multiple Sclerosis Society was founded in 1946 and has spent nearly 80 years funding research, supporting people living with MS, and advocating for better treatments.
• Bike MS is one of the Society’s largest fundraising events, bringing together thousands of cyclists and volunteers to support the fight against multiple sclerosis.
• The massage volunteer program at Bike MS: Bay to Bay has been part of the event for more than 20 years. It began with Cynthia Ribeiro and Sue Duran through the Western Institute of Neuromuscular Therapy (WIN) before WIN became part of National Holistic Institute (NHI). Although AMTA no longer officially coordinates the massage team, AMTA members continue to make up the majority of volunteer therapists.
It’s inspiring to see riders, volunteers, healthcare professionals, and supporters come together for such an important cause. Looking forward to continuing this tradition for years to come.
