Myron O’Neil “Neil” Tanner, Jr., 55, husband of Amy Floyd Tanner, passed away on May 31, 2026, at MUSC Health Florence Medical Center.

Neil was a dedicated entrepreneur and a proud South Carolinian. He was the owner and operator of Kenny's Bar-B-Que and Catering, where he brought his passion for food and community together. In his earlier years alongside his father, Neil also operated BT Express in Hemingway, showcasing his commitment to hard work.

A man of many interests, Neil had a deep love for the Carolina Gamecocks. He enjoyed golfing as a pastime and had a keen interest in learning about history. Above all else, Neil cherished his family and held a special place in his heart for his employees, whom he regarded as an extension of that family.

He is survived by his son Jacob (Conner) Tanner, daughter Bonnie (Pierce) Curtis, sister Myra Tanner, Step mother Joyce Scott Tanner, mother-in-law Judy Elmore Mishowe, and father-in-law Jimmy Floyd.

He is Predeceased by his parents Myron O’Neil “Bubba” and Bonnie Sue Baxley Tanner.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday June 5, 2026, at 05:00 PM at Morris Funeral Home Chapel 416 N. Main St. Hemingway SC, 29554.

A Visitation will be held on Friday June 5, 2026, from 03:30 PM to 05:00 PM at Morris Funeral Home.

Laura Stone, 70, wife of Anson “Andy” Stone, passed away peacefully on May 27, 2026. Born on March 18, 1956, in Hemingway, Laura spent her life deeply connected to the community and the people she loved.

Laura was a devoted grandmother and great-grandmother who cherished every moment spent with her family. She is survived by her grandchildren Jessica Stone, Dawson (Lyla) Stone, Daylyn Stone, Damien (Carly) Parrott, Eric (Taylor) Matthews, Lindsey Matthews, Justice Todd, and Haley Bazen; as well as her great-grandchildren Braxton Stone, Richie Parrott, and Bailey Matthews. She is also survived by her sisters Deborah Wise and Velda Stone; her brother Buddy "Buck" Wise Jr.; daughters-in-law Casey Stone, Gloria (Jet Tanner) Evans, and Marie (Wayne) Poston; brother-in-law Bobby (Linda) Stone; sisters-in-law Belinda Roberts, Carolyn Stone, Jean Stone, and Bonnie Stone; along with numerous nieces and nephews who held a special place in her heart.

Laura was predeceased by her beloved sons Anson Andy Stone Jr. and Timmy Gene Stone; grandson Joshua Anson Stone; parents Buddy Gene and Mary Wise; brothers-in-law LB Stone, Jackie (Willa Mae) Stone, LaRoss Stone, Greg Stone, nephew Patrick Stone, father and mother-in-law Lester and Bessie Lee Stone. Their memories remained close to her throughout her life.

Laura was a long-time member of New Hope Church and a dedicated office manager at the House of Raeford for over 30 years.

A lover of nature’s beauty, Laura found peace in the mountains and joy in fishing at the beach. These passions were a reflection of her appreciation for life’s simple pleasures. Above all else, she treasured time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren—her pride and joy.

A Celebration of Life, directed by Morris Funeral Home will be held on Saturday May 30, 2026, at 03:00 PM at New Hope Church 719 N. New Hope Rd. Burial will follow in the Owens Swamp Cemetery, Howell Farms Rd. Hemingway SC, 29554

Gerald Daniel Stone, Sr., 88, widow of Pansy Hanna Stone passed away peacefully in Scranton, South Carolina at the home of his daughter on Monday, May 25, 2026.

A son of the late William and Pearline McDaniel Stone, Gerald, as he was known to all, was born on July 7, 1937, in the Vox Community of Johnsonville, South Carolina. A graduate of Johnsonville High School, Gerald began his career at Wellman in Johnsonville shortly after completing his education. He later went into business for himself as the sole owner and operator of Stone's Septic Service in Johnsonville. Through his dedication and standards, Gerald built a reputation for reliability and excellence that resonated throughout the community.

Gerald was a long-time member of Westside Free Will Baptist Church, where he found joy in participating in church activities and fostering connections with fellow congregants. His faith was a cornerstone of his life and guided him in all that he did. He was also a member of Leo Masonic Lodge #310 as well as the Omar Shrine.

Known as a man of few words, Gerald cherished simple pleasures. He was renowned for his skill as a "porch-sitter," finding peace and contentment in quiet moments spent observing the world around him. He loved spending time at Santee with family and friends and took great delight in watching children and others enjoy the pool at his home. These moments reflected his deep appreciation for family togetherness and the joy of shared experiences.

Gerald is survived by daughters, Penny (Karen) Stone and Maurya (Stephen) Smith; sons, Craig (Deanna) Stone and Dan Stone; grandchildren: Calder Stone, Graham Stone, Hayden Stone, Wade (Chelsea) Langston, and Hunter Smith; and great-grandchildren: Daniel Langston and Lilly Langston as well as sisters-in-law Betty Hanna and Judy Hanna.

In addition to Pansy, his beloved wife of 62 years, and his parents; Gerald was predeceased by brothers Vernie Stone, Willie Stone, Murdock Stone, and Norman Stone; sisters Nancy Altman and Wilma Tanner; and brothers-in-law Stanley Hanna and Gerald Hanna.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Agape Hospice for the exceptional care provided to their father over the past months.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, June 4, 2026, at 11 am, at Eaddy Ford Cemetery in Johnsonville, SC 29555.

Redetha Mae Eaddy Altman, 80, passed away peacefully on May 22, 2026. Born on August 24, 1945, in Hemingway, she spent her life deeply rooted in the community she loved.

A woman of faith and dedication to her community, Redetha was a member of Midway Baptist Church. Her life revolved around the simple joys that brought her happiness—gardening and spending time on the farm were among her favorite pastimes. Above all else, she treasured the moments spent with her family.

A devoted mother and grandmother, Redetha is survived by her daughters Fonda Altman and Brandy (Charlie) Harrington. She was a cherished grandmother to Asheley (Scott) McWethy, Jeremy (Amber) Miles, Brad Owens, Heather (Wayne) Chapman, and George M. "Boo-Toot" Owens, III. Her legacy continues through her great-grandchildren Hailey Mason, Jacob, Hillary, Jayden, Adia, Anna Claire, Gracelynn, Jameson, and Sadie Mae; sisters Ann Barrineau and Linda (Elwood) Springs. She also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews who will fondly remember her warmth and love.

Redetha was predeceased by her daughter Karen Altman and grandson Eric Miles. She was also preceded in death by her brothers Sidney Eaddy, Jerry Eaddy, Derrell Eaddy, Johnny Eaddy, and sister Charlene Eaddy.

Redetha’s memory will forever be cherished by those who knew and loved her. May her legacy of love and devotion bring comfort to all who mourn her passing. A visitation will be held on May 24, 2026, from 05:00 PM to 07:00 PM at Morris Funeral Home 416 N Main St Hemingway SC, 29554. Paul Edward Nealey, 54, passed away on May 12, 2026, at his home in Georgetown, South Carolina.

The only son of the late John D. and Dorothy Powell Nealey, Paul was born on January 25, 1972, in Virginia Beach, Virginia. He spent much of his life dedicated to the family landscaping business, working alongside his father. Paul’s commitment to the business reflected his strong work ethic and connection to his family’s legacy. His work also instilled in him a natural love for tending the plants and flowers around his home.

Paul is survived by his sister, Rosalee Shannon as well as three nephews and one niece. He is also survived by Cynthia “Ann” Johnson, his life partner of over thirty years.

In addition to his parents, Paul was predeceased by a sister, Jessie Cochran.

Morris Funeral Home of Hemingway, South Carolina, will be assisting the family with arrangements.

Mr. Ronnie “Ronald” James Poston, Sr., age 74, passed away Wednesday, May 6, 2026 peacefully at his home, surrounded by his family.

Born April 4,1952 in Williamsburg County, he was the son of the late Smiley James Poston and Ruby Louise Hanna Poston.

Along with his parents, Mr. Poston was predeceased by his wife of 49 years, Carol Jean Poston; a daughter, Christina Poston; a sister, Marilyn Eskins; and a brother, Scotty Poston.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you and express much gratitude to Patriot Hospice for their love and care during this difficult time.

Surviving are his daughter, Lisa Anne Barefoot of Aynor, SC; two sons, Bishop Ronnie J. Poston, Jr. (Monica) of Ruby, SC and Rev. Daniel Eli Poston (Lisa) of Hartsville, SC; nine grandchildren, Hannah Barefoot Buffkin (Kirkland), Gracyn Barefoot Satterfield (Cory), Trinity Barefoot (Brody), Alayna Barefoot, Ronnie Poston, III, Noah Poston, Owen Poston, Samuel Poston, and Abigail Poston; six great grandchildren, Ava Podwats, Harper Hagen, Lyla Hagen, Mylee Satterfield, Elena-Marie Hagen, and Wrenlee Buffkin; two brothers, Ricky Lee Poston and Don Allen Poston; sister, Terri Poston Nesloney and a special sister, Sherryann Salazar (Rudy); many nieces and nephews; and a God-given granddaughter, Rev. Adrienne Rayfield.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, May 9, 2026 at Aynor Church of God with Evangelist Jimmy Jones and Rev. Adrienne Rayfield officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive family and friends two hours prior to the service, from 11:00 AM-1:00 PM, at the church.

Gracie Eaddy, 85, widow of Reginald J. Eaddy, passed away peacefully on May 3, 2026. Born on January 10, 1941, in Brittons Neck, South Carolina, she lived a life filled with love and devotion to her family and friends.

Gracie was the cherished mother of Regina (Steve) Skinner and Bobbie (Phil) Allen. She was a proud grandmother to Adam (Brittany) Skinner, Alex (Brooke) Skinner, Harley (Hannah) Ard, and Taylor (Ashley) Ard. Her legacy continues through her great-grandchildren Drake Skinner, Reece Skinner, Auden Skinner, and Ivy Ard. Gracie also leaves behind her beloved sisters-in-law Helen Tanner, Loretta Cox, Sherry Redmond, and Annette Cox; brother-in-law Shad Eaddy; numerous nieces and nephews; and a very special friend and caregiver Ann Matthews.

She was predeceased by her brothers Wardie Woodberry and Eugene Woodberry and her sisters Christine Hughes, Berlene Perry, and Doris Baxley. Their memories remained close to her heart throughout her life.

Gracie found immense joy in tending to her flowers—a reflection of the care she poured into every aspect of her life. Her greatest passion was caring for her family, especially her grandchildren. She was a devout member of Ebenezer Methodist Church. She loved deeply and selflessly, creating a home filled with warmth and affection.

May Gracie’s memory bring comfort to all who knew her. Her love will forever bloom in the hearts of those she touched. Allen B. Hanna Sr., 84, husband of Burnadean Owens Hanna, passed away peacefully on May 3, 2026. Born on December 17, 1941, in Hemingway, South Carolina, Allen lived a full and industrious life dedicated to his family, work, and passions.

Allen’s professional journey was marked by hard work and versatility. He spent his career at Wellman Industries in the Wool Division, where he contributed his skills and dedication. In addition to his work there, Allen owned and operated a knife sharpening business. He also embraced his roots as a farmer, finding fulfillment in working the land.

A man of many interests, Allen enjoyed fishing and hunting, pursuits that connected him to nature and brought him joy throughout his life. Farming was not only a profession but also a cherished hobby that reflected his deep connection to the land. His love for these activities was evident to all who knew him.

Faith played an important role in Allen’s life. He was a devoted member of Westside Free Will Baptist Church, where he found spiritual guidance and fellowship within the community.

Allen is survived by his children: Allen B. Hanna Jr., Dianne H. Holt, Barry W. Hanna (Sheila “Connie”), and Dena Marlene Hanna. He leaves behind three grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren who will carry forward his legacy of love and resilience. Additionally, he is remembered fondly by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family members.

He was predeceased by his granddaughter April Hanna Strickland; daughter-in-law Peggy D. Hanna; three brothers; and one sister. Their memories remain cherished as part of Allen’s enduring story.

Visitation will be held at Westside Free Will Baptist Church on Thursday May 7, 2026 at 10 AM – 11 AM. A celebration of life will be held at Westside Free Will Baptist Church 530 Vox Hwy Johnsonville, SC 29555 on May 7, 2026 at 11 AM.
