Online predators have access to your child 24/7. Please educate and communicate with your child about the dangers that lurk online! 💙

PROTECTING OUR CHILDREN: KNOW WHAT THEY’RE DOING ONLINE

Our children are growing up in a world where a phone can connect them to virtually anyone, anywhere.

Many apps allow users to communicate with strangers, share photos and videos, livestream, share their location, or have conversations that can move beyond parental supervision. Some can even hide content or allow messages to disappear.
As parents and caregivers, awareness is one of our best tools for protecting our children.

The attached guide highlights 23 apps and platforms parents should be familiar with, along with potential safety concerns to be aware of.

This isn't about assuming every child who uses these apps is doing something wrong. It's about awareness, communication, and staying involved.

Know what apps are on your child's phone. Know who they're communicating with. Talk to them about online safety.
Technology is constantly changing. Our responsibility to protect our children doesn't.

PROTECTING OUR CHILDREN STARTS WITH AWARENESS.

Talk to your child. Monitor their apps. Protect their future.

East End neighbors, we’ve got teens ready to work!
Now we need projects! 🙌

AKZ's Teen & Community Connection Program allows teens to get paid work experience while helping neighbors with approved projects around their homes and properties.

If you have something on your to-do list that could use an extra set of hands, this might be a great fit.

Examples of projects may include:
• Yard work or seasonal cleanup
• Car washing
• Outdoor painting
• Cleaning out a shed, garage, or outdoor space
• Washing exterior windows or outdoor surfaces
• Other approved household projects

**There is no cost to participating neighbors. AKZ pays the teens for their work!**

AKZ reviews all projects for safety and suitability, and AKZ staff supervise teen work.

If you live in the East End and have a project in mind, submit a request here:

Even if you’re not sure whether your project qualifies, go ahead and submit it. We’ll review the request and follow up with you.

Help us give local teens meaningful work experience while knocking something off your own to-do list. 🧡
