Congratulations to Candy Dooling-Logsdon, our Administrator, on receiving the Sincere Heart Award, an especially meaningful honor because it is nominated and voted on by our residents.

When nominating Candy, one resident shared, “Candy is the most hands-on Administrator we have had.” Another said, “Candy is always answering call lights and helping where she can. Even when she was busy, she took the time to bring me tea to my room.”

Candy’s journey at Oasis began as a part-time data entry assistant and, through hard work and dedication, led her through many roles before becoming our Administrator. No matter her title, Candy has never stopped being willing to lend a hand, answer a call light, or take a moment to make someone feel cared for.

There is no greater compliment than being recognized by the residents you serve.

Congratulations, Candy! Your Oasis family is so proud of you. This honor is truly well deserved!

This Healthcare Foodservice Workers Week, we’re recognizing the dedicated team members who help make mealtimes an important part of daily life for our residents.

From preparing meals to accommodating individual preferences and helping create enjoyable dining experiences, our foodservice teams play an important role in the care we provide. We’re grateful for all they do each day for our residents and communities. 💚

We’re pleased to spotlight Maria Aurelio, Housekeeper at Oasis Nursing & Rehabilitation of Green Valley. For Maria, one of the best parts of her job is the people she works alongside and the teamwork they share. She says the residents and her coworkers have become like family, and she especially enjoys the simple celebrations they share together, like birthdays where everyone can take a moment to enjoy themselves.

Maria believes that working in healthcare takes kindness and understanding, especially when caring for residents. Her approach to her work reflects how much she values the people around her and the relationships she has built at Oasis.

Outside of work, Maria enjoys cooking, watching television, listening to music, and spending time with her family. We’re grateful to have Maria on the Oasis team and appreciate the care and teamwork she brings to her work each day!

As we celebrate HR Professionals Day, we’re pleased to introduce Aisha Feliciano, who recently joined Oasis Nursing & Rehabilitation of Green Valley as a member of the Human Resources team. Aisha says she actually found her way into HR somewhat unexpectedly. In her previous organization, she was asked to create a training around customer conversion after having a strong conversion rate, and through that experience, she discovered how much she enjoyed working in HR.

What Aisha enjoys most about her role is connecting with people, solving problems, and being someone employees can trust as a resource. She loves that no two days are the same and that she has the opportunity to make a positive impact on both employees and the organization. She says one of the things she already appreciates about Oasis is the sense of community and the dedication she sees from employees who genuinely care about the residents.

Aisha is proud to be part of an organization where the work truly matters, saying, “Every person here plays a role in making our residents feel cared for, supported and at home. How lucky am I.” Outside of work, Aisha is a huge animal lover and has two Pomeranians she absolutely adores!

Our Creative Crafters Club had a great time creating faux stained glass pieces inspired by an Emily Seilhamer tutorial! 🎨 Our residents got creative with their own designs while enjoying time together and putting their artistic talents to work. We love seeing what our Creative Crafters come up with!

As National Rehabilitation Awareness Week comes to a close, we’re taking a moment to recognize our incredible Therapy Teams and the important work they do for our residents every day. 💪

Their knowledge, dedication, encouragement, and commitment help our residents work toward their goals and make progress, whether that means reaching a major milestone or celebrating a small step forward.

We’re grateful for the therapists who show up each day ready to support our residents, meet them where they are, and help them keep moving forward. Thank you for all that you do! 💙

Our Oasis Creative Crafters have been busy creating something tea-riffic! Previously, our talented residents painted beautiful teapots, and this week they added the perfect finishing touch—gorgeous flowers!

Each teapot turned out as unique and beautiful as the person who created it. We love watching a project come together over time and seeing our residents’ creativity blossom!

Staff Spotlight: Kay VanBuskirk, Director of Nursing! 💚

At Oasis, the people who care for our residents are at the heart of everything we do. Today, we’re excited to help you get to know Kay VanBuskirk, our Director of Nursing, a little better!

For Kay, healthcare is about one thing above all else: making a difference. She was inspired to become a nurse by her grandmother, whom she helped care for when she was younger. That experience sparked her desire to care for others and helped shape the career she has today.

Although she has been part of the Oasis family for a short time, Kay says her favorite part of being here is simple: our residents and staff. She especially enjoys talking with residents and hopes that, even on an ordinary day, she can make someone smile.

Kay describes her role as being a nurse leader and problem solver, and what motivates her each day is knowing she has the opportunity to make a difference for someone.

When she’s away from Oasis, you’ll likely find her spending time with her family, enjoying a good book, or heading to the gym to recharge.

And her advice for anyone considering a career in healthcare? “You need to be in it for the right reasons if you want to make a difference.”

We’re so glad to have Kay as part of our Oasis family and look forward to all the wonderful memories she’ll make with our residents and staff!
