Helping Children Heal After Trauma π
Children don't always have the words to explain what they're feeling after a difficult or traumatic experience. Sometimes it shows up as anxiety, changes in behavior, trouble sleeping, difficulty at school, or withdrawing from the people they love.
At Next Chapter Therapy, we're excited to offer Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), an evidence-based approach that helps children, teens, and their caregivers work through trauma together.
TF-CBT may be helpful for children who have experienced:
-Abuse or neglect
-Grief and loss
-Accidents or medical trauma
-Witnessing violence
-Natural disasters
-Other overwhelming life experiences
Throughout treatment, children learn healthy coping skills, emotional regulation, and ways to safely process difficult experiences. Caregivers are involved along the way so they can better support their child both during therapy and at home.
If you're wondering whether TF-CBT may be a good fit for your child or teen, we'd love to help.
