We will defend your kid's right to wear the same Halloween costume five years in a row. 🎃

Maybe you were hoping they would pick something new this year. Maybe a relative already asked, "Is that the same costume as last year?"

We see that fifth-year costume as communication. Your child is telling you, and every neighbor on the trick-or-treat route, exactly what they love. 🗣

Kids communicate in so many ways besides words, and picking the same costume again is one of them. They are saying, "This is still my favorite thing."

A kid who knows what they love and tells you five Halloweens straight has earned a yes from us. 💜

So order it in the next size up and let them wear what they love.

The first time someone brings up AAC for your kid, you can feel a lump in your throat and a wave of relief at the exact same time. 🥹 Suddenly your brain is asking every question at once.

Does this mean they won't talk? Am I even ready for this? Is it weird that part of me feels relieved?

Every one of those feelings makes sense. AAC feels BIG, especially when it's your kid. 💛

A device is just another way to talk, and every way your kid talks counts with us. Your kid doesn't have to point first or be a certain age to try one, either.

Your kid doesn't need to prove they're ready to communicate through spoken words or using a device. AAC is just another way to talk, so don't make them wait. 🗣️

Getting a device doesn't mean giving up on talking. We use the device and our voices at the same time in every session, and whatever your kid says, out loud or with their device, still counts. 💬

If your kiddo eats the same few foods and every dinner turns into a negotiation, that's not a parenting problem, and there's a therapy for it.

Feeding therapy usually works toward a few things at once...
🍽️eating safely and comfortably
🍽️a wider range of foods and textures
🍽️smells and tastes that don't send your kid out of the room
🍽️calmer mealtimes for everyone at the table

You're part of the plan too, and that surprises most parents. The foods your family actually eats are a huge piece of the therapy puzzle, whether that's what grandma makes on Sundays or the dino nuggets that always work. 💙

Nobody's forcing broccoli. We just want dinner to feel calmer for everyone at the table.

If you're paying out of pocket for speech therapy in Henderson or Summerlin, at Vibrant or anywhere else, a nonprofit can cover about $1,000 of it.

Small Steps in Speech gives grants to kids ages 3 to 22 for speech therapy, therapeutic summer camps, and AAC apps or devices. The average award is $1,000, and the money goes straight to the SLP or vendor, so you never front it. The next deadline is November 1, and grants from that round start January 21. 🗓️

If your plan isn't one we're in-network with, you're already paying up front and sending a superbill to your insurer for reimbursement. This grant is exactly for your family. 💬
