Hi, I’m April—the person behind the camera. 👋
I’m a Sumner County native, a mom of two boys, a longtime homeschool mom, community volunteer, and a Certified Clinical Thermographer.
But my path into wellness started long before Body in Focus.
When my first son was diagnosed with a rare disorder, I found myself doing what so many women who eventually walk into my thermography room have done:
Searching. Asking questions. Trying to understand what was happening when we didn’t seem to have all the answers.
That experience ultimately led me into massage therapy and nearly 20 years of working hands-on with the body.
And then I discovered thermography.
What fascinated me was being able to look at the body in an entirely different way.
I often describe a thermogram as a weather map of the body. It maps skin-surface temperature patterns across the areas we image and gives us another piece of physiological information to consider.
After years of hands-on bodywork, there was something incredibly compelling about having a visual way to think about patterns in the body.
I knew this was the direction I wanted to take my work.
Today, the women who come to Body in Focus remind me a lot of what originally brought me into wellness.
Some want to be proactive.
Some want another perspective as part of their breast-health picture.
And some simply tell me, “Something feels off, and I still have questions.”
I understand that desire to know more.
Thermography isn’t about promising all the answers. For me, it’s about providing another piece of information that may help you ask better questions.
And I feel incredibly fortunate that I get to provide that here in the Middle Tennessee community I’ve always called home.
If you’ve been following because something about thermography has you curious, send me a DM with the word “CURIOUS.” Tell me what’s bringing you here, and I’ll help you figure out whether thermography may be a useful addition to your health picture.
