Allen Dale Been left this world on May 20, 2026, in Tulsa, surrounded by family.
He was born February 3, 1956, to Wilson and Helen Been. Allen was a member of Schulter
Baptist Church and attended Schulter School where he was Salutatorian of his senior class.
After high school, he attended East Central University in Ada on a baseball scholarship then
worked at Anchor Glass until his health caused him to be medically retired.
An avid baseball and softball player and coach, one of the highlights of Allen’s life was
when he attended Texas Rangers Fantasy Camp where he was given the opportunity to
play catcher for the Great Nolan Ryan and was awarded camp MVP.
Before his health deteriorated, he would hunt and fish at any given opportunity.
Allen found real freedom on the back of his motorcycle with the wind in his face and his
long-time friend, Caveman (Dave Moore), by his side. Allen also served as the National
President of BACA (Bikers Against Child Abuse), helping bring the organization and their
cause to many states and countries.

Allen was preceded in death by his parents, two stepfathers and three stepbrothers.

Left to celebrate his life is Allen’s wife of 44 years, Carol; son Lester Been; granddaughter
Tawne’e Been and significant other Cody Howell; sister Sue Carlton; sister-in-law Theresa
Moore and husband Dave; sister-in-law Darlene Brasier and husband Charles; brother-in-
law John M. Doneti; brother-in-law Allen Winn and partner Brett Dobbs.

In-laws Alice Jo Kindred Jones and John T. and Lavern Doneti.
Nieces Krisi Odom and husband Timothy, Melissa Blankenship and husband Randy, Cindy
Hodge, and nephew Curtis Colton.
Great grandsons Russell William Howell, Jackson Allen Howell and Elijah Wilson Howell,
whom he adored with his whole heart!
And many cousins, extended family and a host of friends (especially his motorcycle family).
He will be greatly missed.

Funeral service will be 10:00 am, Wednesday, May 27, 2026 at St Michaels Catholic Church with Father Robert Duck officiating. Interment will follow at the Westlawn Cemetery under the direction of the Rogers Funeral Home.

Sharon Upshaw, a longtime resident of Henryetta, passed away on May 16, 2026, in Henryetta at the age of 88. She was born on March 20, 1938, in Henryetta to Rees and Myrtle (Stephenson) Powell. She married William Upshaw on December 21, 1963, in Henryetta. Sharon worked for many years at the Henryetta Bakery, owned by Alex Swyden, and later at Rocky’s Convenience Store.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William Upshaw; her sister, Delores Sharp; and her brother, Robert “Bobby” Powell.

Sharon is survived by her son, John Upshaw; grandson, Conner Upshaw; brother, John Powell and wife Sandra; former daughter-in-law, Lori Crewse; brother-in-law, Doyle Upshaw and wife Margaret; along with many nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, May 20, 2026, at the Rogers Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Westlawn Cemetery under the direction of Rogers Funeral Home.

Doris Ray (Buzan) Francis Shoemake, a resident of Henryetta, passed away on May 8, 2026, in Henryetta, Oklahoma, at the age of 87. She was born February 2, 1939, in Henryetta to Murrell and Dorothy (May) Buzan.
Doris worked as an accountant, keeping books for the North Canadian Baptist Center Henryetta First Baptist Church and later for Okmulgee County Emergency Management. She was a former member of the Henryetta First Baptist Church and member the First Christian Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Thurman Wayne Francis; her second husband, Bob Shoemake; her brother, Eddie Buzan; and a son-in-law, Dwayne Ausbrooks.

She is survived by her children: Debbie Ausbrooks of Okmulgee; Randy Francis of Bartlesville; and Patti Custar and husband Donny of Ardmore.
Grandchildren include Melissa Clark and husband Cody; Danny Ausbrooks and wife Rachel; Rocky Ausbrooks and wife Samantha; Megan Francis and significant other Blaine Wilkerson.; Derrick Francis; Amy Riddle; Josh Custar and wife Lindsey; Jeremiah Custar and wife Kara; Ashley Adams and husband Kenny; and Josiah Custar and wife Alex.
Great-grandchildren include Cooper Ausbrooks and wife Ashlyn , Brylee Ausbrooks, Kaleb Ausbrooks, Addy Ausbrooks, TesFaye Ausbrooks, Penelope Clark, Brantley Clark, Kaden Dean, Kellen Dean, Isaac Riddle, Emma Riddle, Kennedy Adams, Olivia Adams, Jaxon Custar, Max Custar, Malachi Custar, Zoe Custar, and Lyla Custar, Lexi Custar.
She is also survived by one great-great-grandchild, Brixlyn Ausbrooks; her sister, Jane Johnson and husband Jimmie of Henryetta; along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Dawni Brison, a resident of Dewar, Oklahoma, passed away on May 9, 2026. She was born on August 3, 1952, to Dwight and Melba (Bicknell) Snider. She married Ronnie Wayne Brison on June 18, 1971, in Henryetta, Oklahoma.

Dawni worked for Henryetta Public Schools before retiring from Dewar Public Schools. She also kept the books for her husband’s appliance repair business, served as secretary at Simons Funeral Home, and was an avid Dewar Booster supporter. Dawni was a faithful member of Dewar First Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Ronnie Wayne Brison.

She is survived by her son, Ronnie Wayne Brison II and wife Amber of Dewar, Oklahoma; grandsons, Jentry Brison and wife Molli of Henryetta, James Brison and fiancée Kathryn of Oklahoma City, and Jeron Brison of Dewar; great-grandson, Wyatt Brison; and brother, Mick Snider and wife Teresa of Edmond.

Thelma Jean (Titsworth) Rhodes Robertson, a longtime resident of Henryetta, passed away on May 8, 2026. She was born on August 24, 1929, in Okemah, Oklahoma, to James Luther and Elsa Zera (Langwell) Titsworth. Thelma was a devoted homemaker who enjoyed creating ceramic dolls and quilting.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Eugene Rhodes; her son, Dwight Rhodes; and her second husband, Bill “Bulldog” Robertson.

She is survived by her son, Kenny Rhodes of Seminole; daughter, Debbie Wells and husband Gary of Henryetta; daughters-in-law, Lydell Rhodes of Owasso and Ginger Shockley and husband Joe of Norman; son-in-law, Micky Robertson and wife Sandy of Georgia; grandchildren, Clayton Rhodes and wife Megan, Courtney Felds and husband Taz, Ryan Wells and wife Christle, Justin Wells and wife Angelica, Nathan Robertson, Jessica Yeager, Brent Shockley, and Blake Shockley; 12 great-grandchildren; and siblings, Nettie Lou Hart, Norene Fry and husband Bobby, and Ralph Tittsworth.

Billy Harjo, a resident of Henryetta, passed this life on May 7, 2026, at the age of 76. He was born March 28, 1950, in Okfuskee County, Oklahoma, to Muriel Harjo Sr. and Marian (Lewis) Haynes.

Raised in Fort Worth, Texas, Billy returned to Graham during his junior year of high school. Following graduation, he moved to Santa Fe, New Mexico, where he attended college and earned a degree in art.
Billy spent six years in Macon, Georgia, where he coached basketball and taught science and art at Warner Robins School. Billy managed the Creek Nation Trading Post in Macon GA as well as Okmulgee. He later worked as a bingo caller for approximately nineteen years, eventually serving as a kitchen supervisor before retiring.
Billy was internationally recognized as a champion Fancy War Dancer, and it was often said that “when he danced, his moccasins smoked.” He was also well known for his exceptional beadwork artistry. Even in recent years, Billy continued teaching beadwork classes and sharing the history and cultural traditions associated with the craft. He regularly attended beadwork art shows and possessed the remarkable ability to bead nearly anything.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Marian (Lewis) Haynes and Muriel Harjo Sr.; and his stepfather, Bill Haynes. Brothers; Daniel Harjo, David Harjo and Muriel Harjo Jr.

Billy is survived by his brother, Gerald Harjo and wife Mardi of Franklin, Georgia; sisters, Beverly Chancey and husband Devin of Weleetka, and Charlotte Starkey and husband Bart of Henryetta; nieces, Misty Reece and husband Anthony of Celina, Texas, and Mindy Johnson and husband Mark of Weleetka; great-nieces, Breawna and Tayelor Starkey; great-nephews, Jase and Lane Johnson; along with a host of other relatives and friends.

Butch Ritter, a resident of Henryetta, Oklahoma, passed away on May 4, 2026, at the age of 85. He was born on January 30, 1941, in Okmulgee, Oklahoma, to Albert and Olive (Durnham) Ritter.

Butch attended Dewar schools, where he excelled in athletics. He was an avid bird hunter, fisherman, and golfer. He was ordained as a deacon and attended Dewar First Baptist Church. Butch retired from PSO after many years of service.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wives, Donna Louise and Sue; a son, James Paul; a brother, Arthur; and a sister, Merle Morris.

He is survived by his wife, Beverly (Chaney) Ritter of the home; daughters, Lisa and husband Mark Crawford of Dewar, and Brandy and husband Ryan Treagesser of Okmulgee; grandchildren, Ethan, Angela, Sarah, Kyle, Riley, and Jordan; great-grandchildren, Ethan, Ezekiel, and Mia Sabrina; brother, David and wife Brenda Ritter of Henryetta; sister, Billie Barron of Midwest City, Oklahoma; and niece, Donna Fields of Dewar.

Raymond Dale Padgett Jr., a resident of Henryetta, passed from this life on April 11, 2026. He was born on April 4, 1982, in Okmulgee, Oklahoma. Raymond owned and operated Padgett Construction- Second Generation company.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Joyce Blaylock.

Raymond is survived by his children, Riley Padgett and fiancé Alexia of Shawnee, and Raylee and Blakely Padgett; his father, Raymond Padgett Sr. of Henryetta; his mother, Tammy Humphrey of Henryetta; and his siblings, Dillon Padgett and wife Patience, Morgan Padgett of Springfield, Missouri, and Jimmy Powders of Shawnee.

He is also survived by special individuals in his life, Nora Sweeney, Talon Sweeney, and Tatum Morris, as well as numerous other family members, friends, and loved ones who will cherish his memory.

Joe Max Peavler a resident of Henryetta passed this life on April 9, 2026. Born March 31, 1938 in the Salem Community to Louis and Odane (Johnson) Peavler.

A beloved family man and lifelong resident of Henryetta, he graduated from Graham High School before honorably serving his country in the United States Army from July 1965 to July 1967. During his service, he was stationed at Fort Riley, Kansas for a year and a half and later spent six months in Germany.

He worked for many years as a crane and bulldozer operator. However, his deep love for cattle and horses led him to work and live on ranches until his retirement. Alongside his wife, he shared that passion with his two sons, and later with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He took great pride in teaching them—if they were willing—how to ride horses and compete, spending countless hours training in the arena.

He especially enjoyed calf roping and cherished the many laughs and good times spent at Bill Carl’s Arena. Joe was also an avid outdoorsman who loved squirrel hunting, trapping, and fishing.

He was Baptist by faith and became a Christian later in life with the help of Brother Jack Vance, who came to his home to share the Gospel.

2 Sons: Joe Allen Peavler and wife Lisa. Billy Peavler and wife Kara.
Grandchildren: Amanda Stanton and husband Reggie; Hunter Peavler and wife Natalie; Morgan Peavler; Jaden Peavler; Raylyn Danker and husband Cayle; Raychel Morrison; Tayler and Erick Leef; Kassidy Lee; Brayden Lee; and Kyler Lee.
Great Grandchildren: Shyan Snelson, Rylie Stanton, Rowdy Stanton, Kennedy Peavler, Ryatt Law, Maevery Peavler.
Brothers: Larry Peavler and wife Donna; Bob Peavler and wife Teresa; Jack Peavler and wife Carol.
