๐ Mental Health Awareness Month ๐
Mental Health Awareness Month was created in 1949 by Mental Health America to help educate people about mental illness, reduce stigma, and encourage support for those struggling silently.
Mental health affects how we think, feel, act, cope with stress, build relationships, and make decisions. Just like physical health, mental health matters too.
Many people struggle in silence every day with:
โข Anxiety
โข Depression
โข PTSD
โข Bipolar disorder
โข Stress and burnout
โข Panic attacks
โข Grief and trauma
โข Addiction
โข Sleep disorders
โข Emotional exhaustion
โข Low self-esteem
โข Loneliness and isolation
Mental health challenges can affect anyone โ children, adults, veterans, parents, caregivers, church leaders, and even the strongest people you know.
Why is mental health awareness important?
Because too many people suffer quietly due to fear, shame, embarrassment, or lack of understanding. Awareness helps people:
โ Recognize warning signs
โ Seek help sooner
โ Learn healthy coping skills
โ Build stronger support systems
โ Understand they are not alone
โ Break the stigma surrounding mental illness
Holistic wellness reminds us to care for the whole person:
Mind.
Body.
Spirit.
Simple ways to support mental wellness:
๐ Rest your mind
๐ Pray and meditate
๐ Talk to someone you trust
๐ Eat nourishing foods
๐ Stay active
๐ Spend time outdoors
๐ Set healthy boundaries
๐ Give yourself grace
โCast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you.โ
1 Peter 5:7
Healing is possible.
Hope is real.
You matter.
