✨ Shelby’s GLP-1 Journey to Health and Wellness
Join me, one of your favorite pharmacy technicians at Hephzibah Pharmacy, as I start this journey! This is going to be a very HONEST blog, not only posting triumphs, but also any side effects or struggles I experience along the way! We’re all in this together!
✨ Introduction:
I embarked on my weight loss journey at a starting weight of 198 lbs with a BMI of 30.9 . Before coming across GLP-1 injections, I explored other options such as prescription medicines , dieting , and weight loss supplements over the counter. After trying these different approaches and not having any luck, I wanted to try something new! That’s when I found GLP-1 injections offered at my own job!! Hephzibah Pharmacy partners with PeachScripts telehealth or you can also reach out to your medical provider for a prescription. PeachScripts was very user friendly and the provider that I scheduled an appointment with was amazing! Everything was done over the phone, through their app! The provider did discuss that the medication does affect each individual differently and not everyone will have the same results at the same pace. It took a few days for the medication to arrive and I was able to start 4 days after my telehealth appointment. I was very nervous to give myself the injection, but the needle is very short and thin- I didn’t even feel it go in! Also, all materials were provided, even the alcohol swabs!
After 1 week of the medicine this is what I have encountered ✨
Week 1 ✨
✅ started GLP-1 Journey
✅ noticed less snacking
✅ decreased hunger levels
✅ minimal nausea depending on food
Tips ✨
- increase water intake ( half of your body weight)
- Increase protein intake
- Instead of eating big meals , eat small portions throughout the day
- Exercise at least a couple days a week. I have enjoyed evening walks around my neighborhood!
✨ After my first week I’ve lost a total of 5 lbs and now weight 193!
